She called me this morning and said that their rental car was broken into and everything they took with them and bought this week was stolen. She flies home tomorrow morning. She was at the police station when she called which didn't open until 6pm. Their car was broken into at 5pm and the police do not come out to take a report, you have to go to the station to file one so they had to wait an hour to make a report.

So, getting caught up on MG email I run across this, which I think you might find interesting.

Act like a grown up if you can handle it. That being said, as an anarchist there's a few things I don't do very well, controlling others is literally the last thing I want to do.

HINT: If you want me to keep something secret, which I can do, you ask if I'll keep a secret first. Then if I say yes, you can tell me what you want to tell me. Don't just tell me a bunch of shit with and follow it up with "just between me and you." That's manipulative and I don't respond well.

HINT No. 2: I wouldn't have said anything about this until he said he was going to the police. That was a mistake. . . .

MY OPINION:

I just wanted to inform you that a few members posting in the following thread http://www.motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34166&page=17 stole pictures from my Photobucket account and are posting the pictures on this forum with the intent of harassment. This issue actually originated on another forum and the members have been disciplined (Shaolin Crane was banned). Now they are attempting to continue with the harassment on this forum.

Harassment is kind of a vague term. Basically it doesn't rise tot he level of being explicitly blocked. When it crosses into threats, stocking, etc., that's different.

I have informed Photobucket about the situation and they have removed my pictures from their account but they are still attempting to post them on this thread. If you can put an end to the thread or make sure that my picture doesn't get posted on the thread again I would appreciate it.

Can't help you. I'm anti-IP. You don't own pictures of yourself on the internet and neither do I. You put it out there, it's out there forever. Realize some people are adolescents and grow a thicker skin. (As an owner of the site; however, I reserve the right to refuse hosting any content because that is my scarce resource. Likewise, it is legitimate for PhotoBucket to make its own choices.)


Please be aware that the picture compromises the safety of not only me but my family as well. I am very concerned of what might happen if this continues. I have also printed a hard copy of this thread and I will be informing the Police on Saturday of this continued harassment.

He hosted it on a PULIC photobucket account, nothing was stolen, no password no problem. Secondly, No one EVER threatened that retard, my only comment was "i cant wait to meet you in person" I'm not stupid and I understand ALL rules of "combat" very well. Lastly he was the only person to ever threaten anyone on stangnet, talking about raping members girlfriends and the like. Unfortunately he went back and edited all his posts that included this info. I've done nothing illegal and if he wants to waste police time, money and resources so be it. They can contact me when i get back from vacation.

Haaaaa what a tool. The only thing we "did" to him was take a photo that May or may not be him and photoshop some words on it. His photobucket account was not compromised in any fashion. The photo was being shared with the whole WWW We didn't even know for sure of it was him. In fact he denied it was him at first. He only admitted privately to admin on another forum that it was indeed him. I never threatened him so if he wants to sue me because he posted a picture on the Internet and we found it and edited it let him. I don't even know the idiots real name. So how could he be in any danger?

He harrased me for YEARS on stangnet(but im not whining about it to anyone much less the police)

Finally he overstepped himself by claiming he owned certain vehicles that in fact were not owned by him, him made himself out to be this almighty rich playboy that was an uber badass. He threatened me and many other members numerous times on stang net and was finally called on his bluff.

I never not once threatened him, I have too much to lose even insinuating that I was going to, i simply said i wanted to meet him in person, to see if he was what he said he was, the picture cleared that up. I'm all good now

Is It Illegal For Someone To Post My Picture On The Internet Without My Consent?

Someone posted pictures of me and my family and I want to know what I can do about it. They are normal photos but the website they have them on defames my families character.


This question is one of the latest legal issues to emerge following on from the boom of the Internet. Unfortunately, there is no clear-cut answer for this question, as it depends on several circumstances.

There was recently an example of a young girl who had a picture taken of her at a car wash by her friend. This was subsequently uploaded onto the photo-sharing website Flickr. Unfortunately, the picture was placed under Creative Commons: An online scheme which aims to allow photographers, graphic designers and other individuals the chance to use images without having to worry about copyright.

According to The New York Times, the picture of this young girl was modified and used on a billboard for a mobile phone company in Australia, with a slogan that said she was a pen friend that people could lose after getting their own handset. As the girl was distressed and insulted by a picture being used in such a way without her consent, a legal battle began between the family and Virgin Mobile, the company which was responsible.

In the case, it was found that Virgin Mobile was not responsible for this unfortunate outcome. As a result, unless the problem is related to child pornography, it may not necessarily be illegal for someone to post your picture on the Internet without your consent. Advice to ensure you are not affected includes placing the setting of your Facebook page on private to prevent the public from having access to your account.

Here is my take on this, anyone who is truly fearing for their safety is not going to want to take someone to court, it releases their aninimmity, and makes them public. I hope he realizes this, i'm not someone to be feared so it doesnt bother me.

Secondly my beliefe for all this shit is he was brutally humiliated on a forum where he was made out to be a badass, giving negative conjecture, threatening members, being an all around tool. He probably was picked on all his life and have no way of doing anything to control anyone, nothing he can do to actually scare or frighten someone so this is his way of having a "bigger and better" backer scare us for him. Problem is, when you start the house fire, and accidentally light the gasoline on your shoe, you're getting burned and it's still your fault.
