So I happened to be watching the Alabama/Notre Dame game the other night with my brothers, and Brent Musburger (one of the commentators for ESPN) made some comments about the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron. None of it was bad or offensive he basically said that if you want to have a lovely girlfriend, become a quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He went on to say how beautiful she was and that was the end of it.
Now ESPN has apologized for his comments saying they went "too far". OK, so let me get this straight, it is now considered "offensive" by the emotional left to call a woman beautiful. Perhaps nail salons, hair salons, and clothing stores should all be shut down too and instead we'll ask that women only walk around wearing a fucking black sheet for fear that someone may compliment a woman based on her looks.
This society is fucked, and I fear what my kids will be dealing with as they age. Oh, and here's AJ McCarron's girlfriend Katherine Webb (she was also Ms. Alabama)...

Sadly they apologized because they got enough complaints to warrant it, my gawd who would have thought that commenting on a beauty pageant contestant as being beautiful. Absurd.

That's what I'm sayin man. It's pathetic that we as a society continue to pander to the complaints of the weak minded minority. ESPN should have just said piss off to all the complaining idiots who had a problem with Musburger's comments. It was probably a bunch of ugly ass feminists who are just jelly they don't get any attention because they don't bother to get their hair done, are overweight, and haven't purchased make-up ever in their lives.
It's like we men are somehow supposed to feel bad about our human nature. As a man it's literally impossible not to look at an attractive girl... it'd be no different than a starving human having the desire to look at a plate of food. I can understand not wanting men to be staring for an absurd amount of time or making disparaging remarks about another woman, but calling a woman beautiful and having a camera focus on her seems to be NBD to me. Especially considering this same woman (who was wearing a t-shirt during the game) has pictures of herself in a bikini all over the internet.

The argument from the left really isn't so much just about the comment on her appearance but the idea that a woman's value derives from attachment to a successful man rather than from herself and secondly that her value in this equation is something of random and fleeting nature; superficial features rather than some skills or knowledge perhaps. I think they get too wound up about passing comments on appearance, but you might be missing their deeper concern/argument.

Nope I get it, the problem is their opinion on the subject contradicts reality and is dishonest. Generally speaking women are attracted to wealthy and powerful men, and men are attracted to beautiful women. This fact alone is why we see so many news stories about an older CEO/politician/athlete cheating on his wife with a young attractive woman. Why? Because if we're honest about male/female human nature, we realize that wealthy powerful men in the presence of attractive younger women is a dangerous combination.
Now what you said about her having value due to her attachment to the Alabama QB, this is also a dishonest assessment of the comments made by the ESPN commentator. He praised her for her beauty AND made a joke that being a quarterback at a school like Alabama likely ensures you'll have no trouble finding an attractive girlfriend. Once again, if we apply the facts about male/female human nature what he said isn't at all disrespectful/dishonest.

Seaport village is a fun spot. Assagios has the best deep dish pizza i've ever had. Being you're close to chicago I'm not sure you'll feel the same but still very good. Bellmont park is a fun free entry amusement park that has one of the oldest roller coasters in the country.
My ex-girlfriend and her family stayed at the Dana and loved it. Gaslamp district is definitely worth a trip, plenty of clubs, bars, restaurants there that adult oriented.
Text me your exact day and i'll see if I can make it down for some night time fun.
Thanks again for the tips Guy. We loved the Dana and Bellmont Park was great. We didn't actually venture into the park much and instead I took my 3 year old to see the ocean there on Mission Beach (awesome beach BTW).
We did go down to the Gaslamp district a few times and had some great food. There's a new place there called Barley Mash and the food was incredible, and it was fun to sample some local craft brews in there.
Other than that, we toured the USS Midway (awesome), we went to the SD Zoo (dumb as f**k on account of too many people... took us an hour to get into the zoo), Del Coronado was cool to see, and we checked out the Cabrillo monument. Finally, we ventured up to Carlsbad and took the kids to Legoland which was great.
All in all it was a good time hanging out with my family. I'd definitely go again and I really wish I lived in SD after spending some time there. It's so damn nice there compared to the shitty state of hockey.

They're not arguing about what is, but what should be and not taking a given status as a permanent fact. There are rich and powerful men who do not cheat on their wives, it is not a universal law, only a tendency with some basis in nature. To suggest otherwise is to state that rich and powerful men have no more control over themselves than a dog. But human behavior involves considerable choice and choice is based on thought. This is where it gets interesting. Change the thinking, change the choices, change the behavior, change the world. IMO, this is not infinitely plastic, but far more flexible than a typical conservative might think.
Consider it was not all that long ago that women were regarded as something closer to property in law rather than fully autonomous human beings with equal rights under the law. That has changed, but they are right to point out this is not something they got from the conservative status quo out of the generosity of their heart.
Anyway, it's pretty much over.

Yep we don't disagree here, and FWIW I didn't say that it was only rich/powerful men that cheated nor did I say that if given the chance all rich/powerful men will cheat. What I'm saying is that generally there are basic male/female inherent traits regarding sexuality and attraction. There are exceptions to every rule, but if we couldn't deal in generalities discussion would be pointless. The idea here is rather than expect men to be faithful, women should be grateful of faithful partners because of our inherent nature to be attracted to various other partners.
I read The End of Men at one time, but sadly I don't entirely agree with it simply based on the desires of each gender. The left tried to publish a report years ago proving that boys played with action figures and girls played with dolls simply because parents exposed them to what they thought each sex should play with. The fact is, in the study the girls were given boy toys and they were coddling action figures and cars, while the boys who were given dolls to play with were making them fight. They tried to prove that boys/girls will play with whatever toys they are exposed to, but failed to address the fact that boys played much more aggressively with the dolls and the girls were coddling the war and action figure toys.
Anyways... we could go on and on, but for now I'll just leave you with this :)

Looking for a place to buy again. Found one curious one up near Gavlin Hills on the south side of Lake Matthews. It's weird. Has a whole second house that was framed out by crack heads as far as I can tell (tons of building materials to be reclaimed), and was pretty much abandoned. It does however, have the best view of any house I've ever been at just about ever. Pretty much all the way from Corona on past Riverside, pretty high unobstructed elevation. I've seen it at night and day and it's stunning. Five acres, though probably only about 1 usable in present form, the rest is on a rough slope. The main house is pretty decent in construction, but a little trashed from the previous occupants. Distance from work kind of sucks at 43 miles (solid hour), but the view alone is just spectacular. Tempted even as a kind of investment. If I turn out to utterly hate the drive, I can sell in a couple years. It was foreclosed and needs to be cleaned up quite a lot. Bank is asking mid 300s, but the last time it sold in 08 (yess, boom) was pushing 800. I wouldn't expect that kind of upside, but it oght to have at least a couple hundred g with some TLC and a little time. Mmmm.

In short, sellers from outer space. We couldn't (nearly) make a close in 2012 and despite other efforts couldn't make it happen in 2013. Then the fucktards decided our $10k deposit belonged to them for damages (it's just comedy). The issue is that Escrow cannot close without mutually agreed instructions, so at first it didn't really cost them anything to freeze escrow and ask for money to settle. What they didn't expect is that I do not negotiate with terrorists, so I'm in the process of making this an expensive exercise for them.

That place up in Gavlin Hills had way too many legal troubles attached to it. Looking for something in Chino Hills, where our business is, so that my wife who works long hours six days a week can cut her commute to nil. I've thought of keeping the Fullerton House and renting, but I want to pay a large debt to family that we used to start the business, after which I should have a fair chunk of scratch left over to either liquidate one remaining debt, or invest elsewhere, I've been thinking of a part equity ownership in a franchise with some friends, like a Flame Broiler or a place that looks like it might start being a franchise.

Speaking of being snub, 90% of the paralegals out there piss me off. They have self-esteem issues (maybe because theyre not attorneys?) so they love making little fucking comments to put us down in an attempt to boost their own ego.
Newsflash paralegals, youre not more educated than lawyers, so dont act like it. Idiots can make it through paralegal school, they cant make it through the bar. You dont know the law, you cant give legal advice, and you cant sign off on shit. Im sorry if you youre not happy with your life choices, but dont take it out on us, and know your place. Fuck.

For those other 10%... you are essential to the smooth functioning of a law practice. And if youre not making little snub comments like that, you probably dont have self-esteem issues, and thus are more intelligent than those other 90% of paralegals out there... and do probably have what it takes to pass the bar. So thank you for your service... AND your self-confidence.

Aren't you only in your mid 20's? How old was the person who called you old?
Speaking of workouts, running uphill against 20 mph winds sucks! I added 1.5 miles onto my normal 3 mile run today and 1 mile of it was uphill. My heart rate was about 13-16 bpm higher (186) than normal (170-173) . However, running downhill with the wind makes up for it.

So i'm sitting here trying to write my 6 page paper due on thursday and i'm stuck on the fucking outline. What the fuck is a thesis statement, thesis agreement and how do I find it?
First, your teacher is a bit of a douche if he doesn't offer some guidance on what he expects. Did he? Also, they are there literally to serve you the student. Ask him/her! Constantly, whatever you are not clear on. Not only will you get the straight scoop on what they expect, but you will demonstrate that you give a shit about the class and performing to expectations. If you have any noisy pridefulness, get over it. Just focus on optimal execution.
Second, if you don't already have one, you'll probably want some kind of laptop/desktop with monitor and keyboard if you're going to be writing much. I shudder at the idea of trying to do a paper on a smart phone if that's what you're doing. I mention this because I know you use a phone extensively. Fine for jerking off on car forums. Ain't going to cut it for writing papers.
Thesis Statement
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thesis_statement
Thesis Agreement
New terminology to me but it seems to be nothing more than a contract of sorts between you and your professor on on the project.

Also I strongly encourage you to use any and all academic resources your instituiton offers that you think you might need. Most places have VERY cheap or free tutors, guidance councilors, office hours, etc.
In martial arts, originally for war anyway, the object is to win the fight . . period. In school there are two related objectives: 1- learn and 2- get the piece of paper that represents that you done learned to others. Use the same focus you have for MA, negotiating new concepts and techniques, etc.,and you'll do better than fine. You'll come out the other side a more knowledgeable person.

After about six months and multiple attempts, looks like we're just going to stay put. The market is going bat shit crazy, and nothing makes sense much sense for us; junk places are going for well past $300k now.
Is it another bubble? This is harder to tell but in a sense, unfortunately, I don't think so in the sense the last one was. I got beat to an offer or outbid by people paying cash(!!) for 10%+ asking prices on several properties. Well, it ain't a credit bubble if people are paying cash. Now, how many cash buyers are there for real estate? Not so many. What *seems* to be happening is that supply is severely constrained and the rent market is crazy high, meaning investors can buy an asset that produces positive cash flow day one. If however, you're looking to buy in for the first time at anything vaguely approaching Orange County at the middle-middle class and above, lube up.

Do you enjoy or are you at least capable of basic construction/handy man type stuff? If so, you can find "fixer uppers" or houses that need "TLC" for an ok discount, though they are getting chewed up by flippers now.
This all might just be a flash in the pan and settle out once liquidity gets used.* In any event, save for a 20% down to stay conventional and avoid PMI and other hassls if you can, find a house that needs a little attention in an ok neighborhood and you *might* be able to find something that wouldn't break the bank, especially if you were willing to go out a little ways towards Fontana/Riverside. This is where a lot of people get really fucked up. A house is not really an asset, it's a liability sucking money and time away. It's only an asset if you're renting for positive cash flow or at the time (and only at the time) you sell it for a profit. Always assuming the price of real property will be higher in the future just cuz is not all that bright. A few million people have had there asses handed to them in the last couple years on that little error.
*Liquidity
The banks are flush with cash. If they open the flood gates (lowering requirements for example) for whatever reason(s), all bets are off, property values would sky rocket to who knows where. On a tangent, there's already some signs of general inflation (and definitely in the producer prices area). Fortunately productivity is always increasing and people and banks on the whole are a "little" more careful on the spending side than before, so things might stay reasonably under wraps, but no guarantees. The gun is loaded, it's just matter if we're going to put it to our heads and pull the trigger. :smack:

I do like it , and location to work is about as good as it gets. Gonna do a patio room conversion, and pick up a couple hundred square feet. There some really nice product on the market that makes them pretty nice, like a pleasant sun room. Gonna continue with making the garage a nice shop space and keep the snake here.
I was worried about some safety issues, but in the last year or so the Koreans have been moving in big time and displacing some of the riff-raff in surrounding neighborhoods. There's already a nice Asian market here now (across from Nick's loaded with goodies round-eyes aren't hip to.) We'll see how it goes, but it should work for at least a few more years.

There's loans for land + construction like anything else and you could theoretically do for less if you had all the right connections and a lot of patience to work through all the hoops. My family back in Wisconin has done this sort of thing several times. My favorite story is a distant cousin who bought 40 acres heavily forested with hard woods. He thinned the hardwoods (mostly maple) and sold for high grade lumber damn near the purchase price of the land. Scratching around in the middle to make a clearing he discovered the water table there was pretty high so made himself a little lake. In WI, you can buy stockers basically free, so he put in like a couple thousand fish for like $100 or something ridiculous like that. Of course, that was a one time deal, never have to do that again since he's about the only one fishing there. Naturall there are all the deer you could ant (too many in fact), etc. Then a cottage on the river that runs along the back. All in, said an done, basically he has a private 40 acre park for well under $100k.

Our bodies fight cancer naturally, we grow cancers all the time, but we eat so much synthetic crap it slows our bodies down. My best friends Dad had prostate cancer, he elected to do the organic diet over the chemo... cancer shrunk, and disappeared.
First hand info, not an old wives tales. Freakin crazy.
Also, people dont understand how cancer works. Its not prolonged exposure to something that causes it, its one single occurrence. One puff of smoke, one beam of light. The reason people who tan and smoke have an increased risk is simply because they have better odds with more exposures. Crazy.

I wonder about things... today I was wondering about this:
Nicolas Guaman
ILLEGAL ALIEN from Ecuador
He was driving drunk with his 6 year old son in the car. Ran over a motorcyclist, then drug his body for about a 1/4 mile (the motorcyclist was alive the whole time), a bunch of bystanders were running after the truck banging on the windows trying to get him to stop, then ran off the road, hit a curb which dislodged the motorcyclist, after running off the road he backed up and ran over the motorcyclist again finally killing him, the he fucking drove off!!! The judge in the case recently said that he isnt competent to stand trial yet because he can't communicate with his lawyer. well FUCK ME he has been here for over a decade working illegally and he cant communicate with anyone?!?!? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. Has all common sense fallen out of the asshole of society? If I was the motorcyclist's father I would get arrested to be put in prison to slit this fucker's throat and watch the life drain out of his eyes.

Call, email, talk to your congressmen/women and tell them to enforce the immigration laws on the books. Other than that, I have no idea since its fairly obvious that most of America doesn't give a shit about it. There really isn't anything to do or say really. Just feel comforted in the fact that our tax dollars go to represent people who illegally entered the country and who should have no right to the justice system which they mock every damn day

Public Defenders and OAC always have Spanish speaking lawyers. If he was given a lawyer who cant speak Spanish its prob because no one gives a fuck about him and theyre not planning to fight very hard, and the judge just wants to make sure things go fairly and by the book so nothing will be turned over on appeal.
Dont worry, give it time, he will be fucked by the long dick of the law. My money is on negligent homicide if he plea bargains, reckless indifference murder if he doesnt. (Based on what Ive read here.) If he was drunk or stoned, felony murder.

The machinations of judicial process are hard to grock when confronted with a senseless death.
As for the law, it should be treated the same as if it were a tourist visiting the US, a legal alien resident, a citizen, etc.
I cannot blame a poor Mexican peasant who comes from the hinterlands North a bit to find work and send money home to his family. Why? It's the best option available to him for the reality of life. I would do the same thing. I cannot blame someone for doing what I would do. What would you do?
My ancestors came to the US in the mid 19th century. There was no particularly formal process. They showed up and started making their lives. (We'll side step the minor detail that there were people here before any of our ancestors . . except MustangRay . . and that they got the most epic fucking of all.) Nevertheless, America's remarkable position in history is a function of its openness over the centuries, NOT a very typical closed attitude.
Treat criminals as criminals regardless of where they are from. A person is not a criminal because of where they are from.
