The fact that I was able to break traction at the 1000' mark was a bonus. Badass, sure. Still would be if I had a place to put my lift to fix it, since I don't, just another paper weight.

My doctor assured me I was probably already steryl to begin with with all the scar tissue down there, then the way he had to do the operation as a result he assured me it can never be reversed. 7 days after I was confirmed completely done, not even dead sperm, nothing completely seed free.
So no, I wouldn't believe her. Plus i'll never have a wife so we can get that piece out of the way too. Long lesson learned, all women are liars and cheaters. If I do get a call i'm gonna laugh and tell her to check the other wangs that traversed the area.

You were stabbed. It's going to take a long time for that scar to fade enough for you to forget about it. And until it does, everyday you stroll through the hood you will expect to get stabbed again.
Even when you meet an awesome girl you will be skeptical and cautious.
And hopefully, you will find one who will chip away at the wall you've put up, and who will make you realize that the awesome thing you thought you had before... wasn't so awesome.

Being a cop isn't even in the top 10 of most dangerous jobs.
Speed limits are ostensibly about public safety. When cops get dangerous drivers off the road, clear roads, investigate real crime, etc., good. The rest is bullshit.
Cops, and all public servants for that matter need to be put in their place; servants, accountable for the production of public goods, that's it.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics' National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries shows that there were a total of 4,383 fatal injuries on the job in the U.S. in 2012, down from 4,693 in 2011. The data also tell us what are the most dangerous professions in America. The top spot goes to logging workers, who lost their lives at a rate of 127.8 per 100,000 full-time workers. Here are the 10 deadliest jobs of all.
1. Logging workers
2. Fishers and related fishing workers
3. Aircraft pilot and flight engineers

If you have buddies who are cops in LA, you know they dont waste their time with bullshit, because they have real police work to do. LA cops and NY cops are the only ones Ive found who I like.
If you are CHP and a guy flys by you at 71 on the radar, technically he is breaking the maximum speed law. So if you rely exclusively on legislation to make your decision, that's your cut off point. Actually 70.1. But obviously, cops don't do that. So it is up to you where you draw the line.
The basis for all laws is, and well... should be, that we live in a free country, but our freedoms cease when they begin to infringe upon the freedoms of others. Thus, if you drive recklessly, you endanger other drivers, infringing upon their freedom to be safe on the road. If you felt that someone is being reckless, in the SPIRIT of the law, yes, it would be your duty to uphold it.
On the other hand, if you give someone a ticket for going 71 mph. You are a fucking douchebag, and I'll bet everyone on this forum including Rons brother would agree.

Most of the CHP officers have a set speed above the speed limit that they allow before they will write you a speeding ticket. Assuming you are not driving like an ass. For my brother's department that seems to be about 80. If you're under that they won't bother with you but above that or again if you're driving like an ass then they'll write you up. On the freeway I will usually do about 5 mph above the posted speed limit but on city streets I do the speed limit.

I've never been pulled over by the CHP either, and I usually cruise in the Vette at just under 80 so it doesnt bog. The four times Ive been ticketed it has been by a city cop, in a nice area (probably because they dont have any real work to do). And for something stupid, that I didnt even realize until they explained it to me.
One got me as I was accelerating through a yellow.
The next one claimed I crossed over a right turn only line before turning right.
The next gave me a ticket for not treating a school bus like a stop sign, when it was parked on the other side of a solid double yellow line, on a mountain road, with no schools or children present, and NO FUCKING SIDEWALK on the mountain road for children to cross. Just a road barrier.
And yesterday, for accelerating to merge as a lane ended. Doing 50 in a 45.
I do some reckless shit, no doubt, but Ive never been ticketed for it. Ive only been ticketed for stupid shit, by chubby rich city cops with nothing better to do. And Im sure it will happen again in 3-4 years, and I wont realize why until Im pulled over. Ya, justice.

And actually, the law under which I was cited, the city speed limit and not the freeway maximum speed, does not state that you are in violation for driving faster than the posted limit. It says you are in violation for driving at a speed faster than is reasonable for the conditions. VC 22350 I think. So it was ENTIRELY within that cops discretion. No pointing the finger at legislation here, the law itself is subjective.

Yeah . . . I think one area of accessible improvement, since most cities are incorporated entities is to decouple public services from the municipalities. The physical structures would remain assets of the municipalities, but staffing would all be done essentially on a contract basis with private firms that could be regularly evaluated for performance and cost in something more like a competitive market. As it is, the entitlements and incentives are pretty stupid.

Second, you just inserted a hypothetical into my argument. You dont know that his supervisor told him to do anything. I've been let go by cops in my city before while driving the Vette.

Exactly. That's what I'm talking about for incentives. If Acme Cop Corp. demonstrates lowering a crime rate, successfully investigating crime and finding criminals, WHILE not getting a bunch of complaints from the public about Gestapo tactics, they get their contract renewed. If they get a bunch of complaints, etc., they get fired. You'd also have a lot more flexibility in staffing up or down based on needs. You know, like pretty much everywhere else.
To be fair to CHP, I think they are explicitly evaluated on accident and fatality rates, and have worked to set up things like the MSF, etc.
Some wealthy/safe areas, like Irvine, don't hardly need cops at all.

Agree. There is no accountability.
Which is also why concealed carry permits are not getting signed in LA. The sheriff doesn't want any liability so he just refuses all of them.
Which is why some people just say fuck it and carry anyways. You know, if we were allowed to carry guns, random school and theater shootings would not happen. Because people like me would shoot those mother fuckers in the face. And whats worse, the people who cause crime with guns ignore the gun laws anyways.

False. Irony is the heart of humor. This qualifies.
Rats are generally, if unfairly, regarded as vermin (though they have been highly efficient disease vectors in the past), and cats as beloved pets (by people other than you.).
Offensive jokes are funnier than clean ones.
Cats are vermin as well. If you don't believe me come down to the shop and you'll see they run amuck just as much as other varmint too.
I had a pet rat once, rats are beloved pets by many as well, and yet I do not find it terrible when one dies.

Ya I got to hollywood everyday.
first what time of the day?
The 60 and the 10 will both be as fast from where you are. Both slow down before the 605 and clear up after for some reason. and both will take you to the 101/110
I can leave my house in riverside at 8:15 and be at work at 9:50, but you will run into issues when somedays every freeway is fucked.
I would say it should take you an hour from the 57 to get to downtown.

I need to replace the MSD box because it died last week and then I'm getting a stock 4 cat h-pipe for it to replace the 2 cat one that on there now. I talked to Phill about it and told him what the numbers were and he said it wasn't far off from passing. He said if the guy would have run the engine at around 3000 rpms for about 3 minutes before the test that it probably would have passed but that replacing the h pipe should make it pass.

Probably quite a bit more power under the curve. And tires, tires, tires. However, I think Ron had only the front brakes that day AIR. So that's a big debit. Anyone, this is kinda silly to compare these for anything other than a passing judgement if the intent is to isolate the driver parameter.

Your facts are all false. Ron's old motor had 460 rwhp. That's an advantage. Stock 5.0 are in the 360-370 range. NT05 are sticker than the Pirellis that came on my car. Have you ever driven the roval? I didn't think so. It's fast and 100 rwhp will go a long way there. I had a 96 with a procharger on it. Bluntly, he means timing and scoring race data as soon as anyone starts talking about racing. If you say, "race my shit" it doesn't mean much to him without data backup because it largely eliminates opinions. I know Guy's done with this but I'm not. First, the Cobra made 429rwhp and 387rwtq on the pump gas tune I was running. It made 471rwhp on the race tune but I could only run it on the pump gas tune or it would detonate. I also had to run straight VP110 with the pump gas tune. Second, I was running 245/45/17 NT01s all the way around so I did have a tire advantage but I was also running with me and a passenger and we were both over 200 lbs back then. My car weighed just under 3900lbs. Lastly, as Ben mentioned my rear brakes were not working so I was running on just front brakes and you know how important braking is on the Roval. Let's see what kind of time you run without your rear brakes in your Mustang. Speaking of your times, when did you match my 2:02? I pulled up the Sunday that you said you ran your Mustang with Speed Ventures (the day after you broke your Vette) and I see a 2:03 as your fastest.
http://www.motorgen.com/pic/data/500/Carlos_100712.jpg
So technically you are just a little slower than a '94 Cobra without rear brakes. Once I get new tires, the methanol kit, brakes and can afford (I have a morgage and family to support so extra money is hard to come by on my income) to go run the Roval I will be going back. I know I will be running faster than my old 2:02.

Ron, I had a passenger the entire time he's a big dude like me 220-250. Not having rear brakes is me dragging you with a street tire, just an excuse. I'm checking the results because you only posted on session. The Vette didn't brake I put it away because I flat spotted the tires and it was hazardous. It's working now. It's still going to be faster than you Mustang.

Moved because it was fucking up my thread.
My build threads can't be any more of "show me the money" Since I do majority of the work and ALWAYS show gratitude where it's due. I guess every time I work on a car I'll make a thread about it to appease Carlos
Either way i'm done with it, I was always humble with light razzing and NEVER made claims. I even, on more than one occasion offered to have all three of us drive the gray car for a true driver comparison and have always given credit to Ron and Carlos as better drivers. I don't post to brag, I post to have a record of what was done and when.
Carlos, Since you insist on my mustangs being crap, and my car being built by google don't worry about driving it. I'd hate to disgust you in any way.
You should think before you type and get a grip on you emotions. I did know you moved this thread here until Ben told me. You have a lot of big opinions that you don't mind sharing. If I think you full of shit I will let you know it. Trust me I have been sugar coating it.
I don't think that google built your car. I have never said that. I think that you quote a lot of shit on the internet about performance and handling like it fact. How are you going to tell me the difference in handling between two cars (Mustang and Corvette) that I own and have driven at the track? Because you saw some shit on youtube doesn't mean shit.
I take money out of my checking account every month to pay Ford for a Mustang that I ordered just the way I wanted it. It's money that I could use for other things including my vette because I wanted another Mustang. No typo, another Mustang. Second time down the Mustang road for this guy. Your "Carlos hates Mustangs" theory is generated to discredit anything I have to say about the Mustang that is not positive.
I don't know why you would think that I wanted to drive your car. I think I will survive not having the honor. Please enjoy it, you worked hard for it.

My emotions are fine, and my response was limited. Don't sugar coat things, we're all adults here and shit like that is annoying
I'd love to watch youtube as much as you make it out to be that I do, but being home for about 4-5 hours a day, total, doesn't leave me with much time for anything other than sleeping.
We could spend weeks nit picking each others responses, and while it's tempting, This is the last of it, i'm going to go back into my room, watch a bunch of you tube videos, play some forza, and pay someone to finish my car, if it gets brought up again I will move it all to the drunken brawl.

I know your Corvette is faster than my Cobra on a road course, I never said it wasn't. That would be like you trying to say your Corvette could beat the Chevelle on the dragstrip. You have way more done to your Vette than I do to the Cobra. All the Cobra really has is a PHB and a set of lower control arms. Other than that it's pretty much stock. The issue I have is that you said that you could beat me in my Cobra and Guy in his Mustang (you never said which one of his Mustangs) in your Mustang because you are so much better of a driver than we are. I know you think so but I have to disagree. I've never had a driving lesson but my brother did when he went through the CHP academy. He was also the best driver in his class and when it comes to times Phil and I are very close in anything we drive. Here's a video of us both running the Cobra at a Speed Venture autocross. I ran a 37.46 and Phil ran a 37.54.

If the intent is to isolate driver, it has to be the same car, same track, same conditions. Other than that is kind of silly, too many "buts". An option is to swap cars, so each drive your own AND the other's car. With timing and scoring data, the picture would be pretty clear.

No offense to Carlos but with how he drives on the rev limiter I wouldn't want him driving the Cobra. I drive it hard but I don't over run the engine. My rev limiter is set to the factory 6250 and I shift it at 5800-6000. Just watch the video of me and Phil running the Cobra on the autocross and you can hear how much easier I am on the engine than even Phil is and he never hit the rev limiter.

I agree but he did say that he could beat us in his stock Mustang and now has plans to change it. That would have been like him saying he could beat the Cobra in a drag race in his Vette back when we raced and then changed to a drag race suspension and tubed his Vette for the race.

So I just got a call from the body shop. It's 90% certain the truck is totalled. KBB Shows value of 8000-8500 for that truck.
Checked values for a 1999-2000 f250 and they are only 6500-8500.
Checked value for my 08, its 12000-13000.
So here's my quandry, use the money to buy another 99-00 Superduty and call it a day. Cheap insurance, cheap registration, cheap smog, done and paid for. Continue trying to sell the 08, or give it away at a loss.
Use money to fix the 08, justify the truck payment, still owe 7k but have a new truck basically, new trans and engine.
Buy another 97 Powerstroke.

If you're fundamentally trying to build ahead to buying a house and stuff like that, then all decisions need to be oriented towards accumulating money. (That's the opposite of spending.)
I'd opt for another 99-00 SuperDuty free and clear. I'd seriously consider just giving the 08 away, just to get it out of your hair.
That must have been the biggest cluster fuck blowout of all time. I had a tire completely self-destroy in the loaded Dodge on the trip to Milwaukee, nothing other than the tire was hurt.

Well, two tires in a row didnt help, the entire bed is bent inward. Hard to close the tail gate and now it hangs about 2" off the passenger side of the truck.
I'm leaning towards the Superduty as well. I'm thinking of dropping the 08 to what I owe and letting it go. If they give me the worth, and my mods back then i'll do that. It would be nice to be free and clear again, minus the small loan I took out, but that can be paid quickly.

Frist, the Mustang is 100% factory stock including the brakes. I only took the air pressure down and it had the factory alignment.
Second, I think I am a better driver than you are at the Roval. I'm sure if we went to the bullshit Adams track you would be faster since I have never driven it. I think it's a little ridicoulous to think I wouldn't be faster based on the fast that I have been there a whole bunch of times. I wouldn't have thought you to be the kind of person to think you have mastered a track after ONE DAY.
WHat difference does it make what my Stang has done to it. It's stock now. The roval is open this weekend. But you are at a disadvantage because you're 500+rwhp (460 rwhp is what you told me it made when we raced) doesn't have meth, tires, brakes...............

Hmm, so I'm not one of the guys claiming that his race car is a DD so I drive it about as hard as it can be driven. That's why I have a big truck and a trailer. My ls2 lasted 3 years of racing just about every month like that. It was actually killed by heat. I shifted it at 7200.

That's the first time you have ever said that someone might be faster than you on anything other than a drag strip!
My Cobra is definately not ready to run on a road course but when it is I want to run you in your Mustang on the Roval. Your Mustang in factory trim with the Track Package is basically the same as the Cobra is set up now except for the power. I also have more time in the alignment as I'm only running -2 degrees of camber and the car pushes. I will be realigning it at -3 degrees for the track and will run the -2 on the street.
I never said I had the Roval mastered but I do think I can run a good time there even with only going once. Especially since I will have rear brakes when I go again.
The Cobra made 450rwhp on the race tune when I raced you at the drag strip. It made 471 after I installed the UPR intake tube. It's the Chevelle that made 460rwhp.

I'm not sure how GM handles this but I'm assuming it's like Ford and cuts fuel. That means that every time you hit the limiter your running a cylinder lean. That will take it's toll. I guess since I build my engines and don't have money to drop into it if I break it that I'm easier on it. Like I said I shift the Cobra at 5800 - 6000 and kept the factory rev limiter because that is all the cam is good for. On the Chevelle I have a 7000 RPM limiter chip in MSD box but I shift at 6500. I've hit valve float in it once at 7200 RPM during a burnout when I didn't have a chip in the box. That is why it has a 7000 chip now.

Yup cut fuel or spark. Yup I drive it hard. Yup parts are expensive so I pay shops that build a lot of motors to ensure that I get the most out of my dollars. Racing is hard and expensive. The new motor doesn't get rev'd as hard as the old one only because it doesn't continue to make power at 7K+ like the old one. I do actually make pretty good money, but I also have a fund that I don't touch for catastrophic failure. Even with all the abuse the LS2 with the ETP heads lasted 3 years of of racing. That is very very very good considering the heat of the California desert the revs and the times it posted.

Faster driver. I think that if we went to Adams and I brought the vette I could beat you by the end of the night. Mainly because I would use my Traqmate.
Except the power is an understatement ~370 to mid 500's with the meth. You would also be running NT05s to my factory Pirellis.
I cannot concur that 150-200 rwhp+ Tire advantage is about the same. I ran my 1:49.8 with the factory calipers on the vette. So big brakes are nice, but if you are going for one flying lap then they are not an advantage. I know because it was a hat-trick that I did for years.

The LT5 wasn't bad for its time but I would only take on in a ZR1, I don't think I would ever swap it into anything.
But the new LT1 is a killer, no need for DOHC, we have VVT with our single cam and we have DI, and the fucker still gets 29 MPG EPA, (they could of said 30 MPG if they would of kept in eco all the time)
I really cant wait till people crack the new ECM and start to mess with it, I cant even think about how much power is just a tune away.

You prob couldnt really modify it very much, but at 400 hp stock it wouldnt take much. Plus I love it when people think Im an idiot, only to discover that they are just ignorant.
Like my neighbor, he comes up to me and says, what is that shiny thing behind your front bumper? A cold air intake? I say no, thats an intercooler, its supercharged. He says huh, and leaves.
He actually turns around down the block and comes back to say, but how could it be intercooled if its supercharged? As if I was lying, I showed him.
I would love to have an LT5 in an old hot rod, people walk over and say, what kinda motor is that? Id say, a DOHC corvette motor. Hmmmmm

Reminds me of Gumball 3000, kinda not really. They went to a car show and went up to the owner of a 2000 era V6 Mustang who went a little crazy with plastic chrome. He put a GTR logo on the back (before there was a GTR mustang concept).
They ask him, GTR huh? He says yup, special model. They say thats the rotary in there right? Yup. A rotary with pistons and everything ya? Ya huh.

That's my thought. They tried it and went back to the good old push rods. I love the coyote in my stang, but even with VVTI its no match down low for an LS. It will scream past 7k though.

Right, it's not the LS motors are probably the best packaged motors out there. The Ferrari photo lacked the huge aluminum intake manifold, the 5.0 was complete. That's really why I don't car for DOHC motors. The heads are too fat.

Total form factor of the Ferrari motor is pretty tight in my estimation, the high rise of the intake under the back of a F458 is just fine. No DOHC is going to fit anything like an OHV ever. For real tiny, can't be a rotary. You can fit those just about literally in your lap. But yeah, no argument here, the best value, packaging performance motor is clearly the LS series. They kind of knocked it out of the park and keep on trucking.

Speaking of cops with real work to do, I asked an LA cop a question yesterday. There are a lot of one way streets where you can make a left from the left corner, staying near the sidewalk. A lot of people treat this like a right hand turn and make the turn at a red light. I see people do it A LOT. But you cant apparently. Its technically running a red light, $700 ticket.

The fact you use "sweets" and chocolate in the same sentence indicates you probably haven't had good chocolate. I'm not saying you'd like the real deal anyway, but it ain't sweets, or candy. And no, price by itself don't matter too much. That's a perceived value and marketing thing.
I like jerky too. When I was a kid growing up in the inland empire there was a nice old lady who ran this little store all by herself. Among other things she sold her own homemade jerky. It was great. I never had any other jerky quite like it. It was on the thick side and she left some fat trimmings on it, which amazingly weren't rancid or nasty, mixed with just the right blend of pepper and spices. Feeling nostalgic.

Also, I don't like chocolate much because I don't bleed out of my mid section monthly. Boobs are in the top 3 things God invented. Also you missed where I sold the fox. I'm still bummed about it asshole.
Lastly, I've never liked them aesthetically and have always acknowledged their performance. I was just rustling some jimmies. Whenever you tell a car guy you don't like their choices it's almost equal to being caught in bed when their wife. I find it rather humorous.

There are reasonable questions of quality within something, like chocolate or sushi. There's nothing meaningful to say about whether chocolate or sushi in themselves are gross or not. It's like saying, "I don't like purple!" Uhh, ok. . .

One of the things I'm really interested in is a subject called Permaculture. Long story short it's basically a kind of system landscape design mixed with integrated biodynamics. Think of having a property and considering every aspect of every element, type of buildinging, orientation to the sun (winter and summer), water hydrology, on and on. I'm completing a course now, and worked up this rough Sketchup. I love deserts and the idea of sort of altering them into more productive/oasis type environments, which amazingly can be done with a handful of design principles and time. Anyway, here's my Sketchup export.
