...Nah, this one compliments the other one, its not perfect but the price of free(well no out of pocket, just labor) means I can't say no to it, its obviois the pictures are very dark, but I got home late, I'll take better pictures in the upcoming days so for now these will do.

How does it compliment each other you ask? As my 87 gets modded any and all parts removed will be installed onto this car. So far I have about 80% of the parts I need since I started packratting fox parts. I have a complete running engine and transmission, most of the 5 lug disc swap stuff, rest of the interior, seats, and various other nic nacs. All is left is to get some new bumper covers and paint supplies and get to shining this bitch up.

Have her driving skills improved since "the incident." ;)

Shaolin Crane

Yeah, that's the premise behind this car, something she can learn to drive with a relativly low concern level about ruining. Its just a fox and there are millions of them. Better than wrecking one of the nice cars and something she can learn to wrench on, with my supervision of course.

Obviously it was either going to be or was a drag car. Is the suspension still stock or did they set it up for the strip already?

Shaolin Crane
05-26-2011, 11:42 AM
I don't know what he was going to do, I have my doubts the cage will pass tech. Its mounted further back than other stang cages. Suspension is so so, has eibach reds, probably sportlines and new looking kyb's other than that its stock, however I am getting all the 5 lug stuff along with it

For NHRA your helmet can be a maximum of 6 inches from the main hoop but I don't think they ever verify that. I know when I run at the Street Legals they have never had me sit in the car to check the distance.

Shaolin Crane
05-26-2011, 02:48 PM
Yeah I know, still this will be her car, and as sad as it is, they give her shit for everything. Women are not intended to go far in male sports, ask me how I know.

Today we spent a couple hours stripping the engine bay to prepare for paint, used nearly a gallon of purple power for how much grease was in there. There is still A LOT of grease left and I let some purple power sit on it, tomorrow I'll cap off the holes in the firewall and wrap some of the wires with plastic wrap and I'll pressure wash it and begin sanding and priming hopefully, then once back from vegas we'll really tear into both of them so parts don't have to sit idle. Here are a few pics...

Shaolin Crane

Nice. I know that's one thing my wife doesn't like to be without. Besides, you can always run a short belt at events to bypass the compressor if you want just a little more out of the engine.

Shaolin Crane
05-31-2011, 04:39 PM
Nah, when I run I always go asis, save for slicks. Everytime I've dragged dedicated service its been without changes to the suspension or even tire pressure. Road course days are different however, would be nice to do a whole road course day with the a/c on :)

Nice find. I would love to do a fox body... trouble is, its a ford and I can't own a blue oval... Is she going to be daily driving that thing?

Shaolin Crane
06-07-2011, 09:31 AM
The plan for the build is to be able to DD it if she wants to, at the very least something that is comfortable compared to the 87, I'm working a deal on a set of afr 165's for 400, hopefully it works out, nab those heads and a cheap s-trim and I'll keep it around 450rwhp

And as far as blue oval, my 87 has no ovals ;)
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/PICT0157.jpg

Think of it like this, 2850 with driver, n/a 450rwhp 52/48 50/50 weight distribution and by all account is me built, no ford crap left over

Ryridesmotox
06-07-2011, 09:49 AM
Yea, I have seen other pictures of that beast you have there. I may have to get one and do a heart transplant to a 351 or something. I love how they look, and the IROC Camaros to me are blah, nothing to be stoked about. But I have always been more about the motor than the looks of a car. My neighbor had a FOX built like yours a while back he wanted to sell for $3,000. He was having some fueling issue that would be easy to trace... I should have bought it from him. It was hooked up with everything he just got tired of it... Even had narrows in front and BIG ass tires in the back.

Shaolin Crane
06-07-2011, 02:12 PM
Oh mine couldn't be further from a drag setup, 275's all around blah blah blah, I'll admit the stock motor is a joke, go with an ls3 and don't look back.

Ryridesmotox
06-07-2011, 09:27 PM
LS3? Naw I would stay with ford stuff. Maybe a 5.4 for a GT500 or something. I'm not much for swapping different maker's motors into other cars... I think it almost ruins some of the character or something I dunno just a weird personal preference.

Ryridesmotox
06-08-2011, 01:17 PM
With the interview that the CEO from GM had... I might be getting a fox body alot sooner than I thought. Or a new 5.0

After what Akerson said in his interview I will never buy another GM vehicle again. Just the idea of a car manufacturer's CEO saying that raising the gas prices to force us to buy more economical verhicles is ridiculous. MAKE BETTER CARS AN I'LL BUY THEM! Ford, BMW, or Audi are getting my money from now on.

Shaolin Crane

I'm going to use some scewed reasoning saying that since the vette is a 99 its been grandfathered in, and I'll be paying considerably less than what gm got for it. :D definitely won't buy any other gm car.

I'm even considering dumping my old Vette and Sierra just as a matter of principle. I want nothing to do with GM at any level. It's sad because the engineers are doing good work, but their management is in bed with the devil and I'm just not going to participate.

Yea, I just put my Cobalt up on Craigslist today. If anyone wants a fully bolted E85 tuned 410 wheel torque beast let me know... I'm looking for a fox body after I sell mine. I'll be following shaolin's threads and everyone else's to learn what I can about them so I can build a badass one of my own.

Has a 10 rib drive belt so its good for 10-15psi. Will be getting some afr's and probaly a short runner style intake, as well as an a2w intercooler should be good for mid 4XX to low 5XX with a smog lega cam.

Boosten ya: I appreciate the comments I worked very hard on dedicated service and only hope Max comes out even nicer.

You got a fox body to trade me? LOL

Are you going to be able to get all 10-15 psi in there on 91 octane? what internals are you planning on? Or are you planing on running race fuel or an ethanol? I say ethanol but everyone knows I'm slightly biased. Its pretty good for how much it costs. Or perhaps pump gas with a meth injection system? This whole build is interesting me alot... It's coming together like something I would love to do in the future to a Fox body if I can find one in the right shape for the right price. Sorry for so many questions... I get all excited sometimes.

Shaolin Crane
06-10-2011, 08:28 AM
I'll never run ethanol or e85, that shit is nasty. Stock internals will easily outlast the stock block, up till 93 foxes came stock with trw forged pistons so as long as you have a safe tune those will be fine. The block tends to split in the 450+ range and the pistons, rods and cranks are good for at least 550, I wont run meth since that stuff is highly corrosive as well. A little bitty 302 with decent heads and 10psi with a good flowing intake and some sort of charge cooler will easily make 500rwhp, pass smog and you can keep the a/c unlike the turbo kits for foxes.

As far as tuning it will easily run on 91 octane.

My advice is to buy one of the rollers on the www.corral.net, you'll generally find ones that are substantially modified less a heart and will/can be purchased for around .30c on the dollar and will be in great shape.

Are you going to be able to get all 10-15 psi in there on 91 octane? what internals are you planning on?

The plan he has is basically what I have in my Cobra now only he'll be using an intercool and I don't. I have a stock short block 302 with forged Probe SRS pistons, box stock AFR 165 heads, a ported Saleen/Vortech intake and a Vortech S-Trim like he just bought with the stock 3.33 pulley. The blower made 9-10 psi with the factory CAI supplied by Vortech and now makes 11-12 with a UPR CAI. With 91 I put down 436rwhp and 471rwhp on VP100. With the addition of an intercooler he should make about 50rwhp more on 91 than I am.

Shaolin Crane
06-12-2011, 04:39 PM
Ron is your stock pulley a 6 rib or 8 rib? My plan is to run about 15 psi and see what it puts down and 8'll slowly back it down, debating whether I should run the power cooler or mondo cooler, at this point I already have the mondo cooler just not crazy about running a 5" cowl.

Shaolin Crane
06-12-2011, 06:48 PM
Well i found a complete power cooler kit for $600 which is too cheap to pass up (like all the things i bought this week) and includes the special valve covers needed to clear the tubing, so i guess i'll be selling the mondo cooler, Ron, wanna after cool your car? :)

Damian

Very nice cooler there! I wanted to run a liquid to air intercooler, but opted for the air to air due to the lack of space under the hood I have.

Shaolin Crane
06-12-2011, 11:58 PM
Thanks! I've done about 3 install for them now and the definitely do cramp up the engine bay, along with the fact that the kit requires the tank be mounted where the battery is, since it has a high volume water pump I may mount it in the trunk instead of putting the battery there.

Damian
06-13-2011, 12:36 AM
Trunk would be much easier to do than you think. Should also help to keep the water temps down as well. Put a fan on the cooler too.

Shaolin Crane
06-13-2011, 12:51 AM
I'm sure it will be easy but that's also a long way for the water to travel for such a tiny tank and the ice may melt too fast to get the benefits of packing the tank with ice. If I leave it in the bay I can rig a sort of killer chiller style setup and use the ac system to cool the aftercooler.

Mine came with a 8 rib pulley. You won't need 15 psi to get 500rwhp. You should be able to make that on 10-12 and it will be easier on the engine. I'll pass on the mondo cooler but thanks. I don't want to change anything on the Cobra. I like it how it is now. Down the road I want to build a 331 but I still won't add a cooler because they take up too much space.

So i got back from vacation and this was waiting for me
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0221.jpg
Not the same kit that i posted in ealier pages but its was also $200 cheaper than the one posted and it included shipping. So now all i really need is some cheap heads and ANY aftermarket intake and i should be on my way to 500rwhp and a freshly painted car for around 3k

Damian
06-26-2011, 12:42 AM
Time to hit up Edelbrock for the intake mani.

Shaolin Crane
06-26-2011, 03:06 AM
Im hoping i can work a deal for the same intake i have for the 87 from a member on socalstangs, actually hes selling just about everything i need for both cars. So hopefully i can get a good chunk out of the way for both

Shaolin Crane
07-04-2011, 04:23 PM
so I was able to work a deal on the RPM2 for 400 as well as these for 400, just need some rockers and i'll be set

Shaolin Crane

So here is a breakdown so far...
Si-trim $650
Power cooler $400
SVO Y heads $400
Eddy rpm2 $400
Still need a throttle body, may run the stocker for the time being. Some 42lb injectors, shorty headers, and some 5 lug wheels and the ca will be driveable and i can start on the body work.

Shaolin Crane
08-08-2011, 12:10 AM
Scored some accel 44lb injectors for $135, and made quite a bit of progress today.
Bagged all my interior pieces and organized them into my shit hole of a bench area, pulled about 90% of everything off the car and sanded about 50% of the car, its pretty straight, few dings that need to be pulled but nothing serious.

My girlfriend is in vegas until wednesday so im trying to make as much progress as i can before she gets back. Anyways here is the part people pay attention to.

Shaolin Crane

I'll pull the dents, there is nothing major, no frame damage and most of the dents are reachable from the other side, save for a few, but my paint guy is loaning me his studs welders so i'll be able to pull the difficult ones.

Still need to pick up some metal glaze, and some more mig wire and gas for my welder so i can fill the holes for the antenna and badges

It's looking good. So what else do you need to finish the engine for this one?

Shaolin Crane
08-09-2011, 09:27 AM
Well i lost that intake i originally intended on buying, let it slip through hands so i'll need an intake, e303 cam, 1 5/8" shorties, and a new timing chain. Heads are being ported currently so i'll need to have a cheap intake soon so he can match them. I just dont want a gt40 intake cause they are butt ugly. Other than that i'll need a crank pulley, mini race, intake tube, and various fuel system nic nacs to complete the supercharger. Im sure im forgetting a handful of items that will nickle and dime me.

I just skimmed through the thread, from what you are saying you want from the car a used eddy performer intake would likely be your best bet. It has great street manners and will pull past the the 5k mark. An upside is that you can have the upper ported as well as the lower and by the time you add boost it will likely outlast the stock block if you have it hogged out. A wratchet wrench will get you past the bolt in the plenum. I wouldnt let that sway you away from it.

Its just an added inconvenience i dont want to deal with, if i can find a cheap trick flow intake i will, but right now the only choice seems to be the eddy. Whatever intake i do end up with will be ported by my builder, he's currently got the heads and will need the intake shortly, if i wasnt in the poor house from three mistresses I would probably have enough funds.

As far as the horsepower, I know that the car will make 500rwhp easily, 13-14psi, power cooler and an e303 will do it no issue. I'm pretty confident seeing as Ron's car makes 436rwhp with 11-12psi and no power cooler.

If you are looking for ease of install. Go with ppi or tfsr. The trickflow track/street intake has mounting points that are just as much of a bitch to get to.

Really at this point its whatever is in my price range, so its all a roll of the dice, whatever i can afford is what i'll get, no room to be picky

08-09-2011, 06:59 PM
the cool thing about the eddy intake is that you can open the plate on the plenum and open the upper up. cant do that with a trick flow. depending on where your boost comes in along with your cam/gear choices a box style intake may not be a bad choice and they are dirt cheap. They are more geared for a standing 1/4 mile though. If she is going to try and follow you through a road course you may want to look for something with longer runners.

Shaolin Crane
08-09-2011, 09:33 PM
Yeah same as on my rpm2, its gonna be a learner car, track, street, auto x, road course etc. So its gotta be a friendly intake, with an e303 it'll have excellent street manners and still have a pretty lethal power band once boost kicks in, plus a/c is nice. :)

Started on the drivers side door jamb, the dent in the roof was worse than i thought, so i had to quench and shrink it to keep the dent from popping in and out, but for my first time, did pretty good.
Also removed the hatch and will remove the doors once i have somewhere to put them so i can work on them safely, and hopefully will have it primed this friday, then i can start blocking

Well body is straight yet there is enough dents to slow down the process enough cause I'm not well versed in laying bondo and metal glaze. Its going well enough though as my body man stops by every few days to tell me what i did wrong, should be a week or so before the first layer of primer. Also stopped in for a view of the heads, still a work in progress but nevertheless look great so far.

They look great and would expect n/a with an e303 to make about 300rwhp. He cut .040 off the heads to bump compression to around 9.5:1. Which is fine for boost and wont be too lazy with the centri. Should be able to make 500rwhp easily

What size valves are those? Did you install new valves or are the ones that were already in the heads?

1.94/1.54 They were already installed in the heads, and they are the J302 valves, stainless, and longer in length than the stock valves, IIRC the stock valves barely have enough lift for .550. These are slightly longer and allow for up to .600 lift with less chance of binding cause the springs have 1 less coil than most springs. So we cheated and pulled the inner springs from my AFR springs and Shawn modified the spring seats a bit and used Ti guides. But i didnt have to buy new valve springs, though i forget what seat pressure came out to. I *think* it was around 140lb on the nose.

I still need to find the FRPP guide plates or run the shitty adjustable guide plates since they are no longer pedestal mount. We'll see how long it takes, hardened pushrods and a e303 is still on the bill.

This weekends workings, dismounted the doors, Vanessa did an awesome job at sanding the engine bay, door jambs and hatch area. I had to go back and sand off the flash rust and do some more body work. Also had to fix the bowing roof problem i had since the expanding foam the factory used had deteriorated and was no longer attached causing some pretty bad oil canning. Unfortunately i forgot to take pics of it, i'll do that tomorrow, sadly I dont think its going to make it to primer tomorrow, just not enough experience with bondo.

Painted the heads today, for whatever reason they dont make a silver engine enamyl, only an aluminum color that looks kinda like cheap chrome, so i went over it afterwards with clear to dull the paint. Well last night and today was a cluster fuck, still too pissed off to even talk about. Anyways, my paint guy stopped by to give me some bondo lessons and too look over my other work, he even was so gracious to give me a few gallons of polly primer, some, epoxy primer and some sealer, all i need to do is buy the base and clear, he even gave me a couple yards of various sand paper. Cool dude and does AMAZING work, usually does all my paint work for me but he is working on my girlfriends dads 356 and has a few other cars going so that why im doing it all.

Little of both, he layed the first layer of bondo and showed me how to block it into shape. I did the next few layers of metal glaze to build up the bowed portion of steel in the center. I have on more pass with the metal glaze to fill in the pinholes and low spots but other than that i think the fender is done, gotta do the 2 large spots on the roof still, but those are flat and can be handled easily

Little progress, but still progress none the less, tried to get the engine out of the car but seems someone at the shop stole my ac repair bag with my quick connect tools in it, so everything is "out" but not quite.

Anyways, scored some OE svo/crane 1.72 rockers for a measly $120, now just need an intake and misc odds and ends before assembly can start.

Shaolin Crane
09-07-2011, 10:07 AM
Talked to my builder today and he gave me a contact for his cam grinder down the street. $70 and i can have any spec ground i want, going to do a similar grind to the TFS with some minor tweaks, 221/221 .510/510 112* comes out to .530/.530 with a 1.72. That way i can take full advantage of all the head work and springs installed, my main concern with the stock cam is the power falling off at 5200, anyways we'll see what happens.

Also order my head and main studs along with the adjustable guide plates. Almost there still need an intake, im going to sneak over to Rons house at night and steal his :jester:

Shaolin Crane

So after narrowing down specs and options i *think* i have a cam chosen
.544/.544
218/218

Will take full advantage of my heads and give me a nice low end range and still make power to 5800-6000 and still pass the sniffer.

Got the engine out today, and as i tore it down more and more did i realize i should just rebuild the fucking thing, there was a bunch of shit in the oil pick up, dont know what it is, but its really spongy and there were some metal chunks that i cant figure out where they came from, so i tore it down and hot tanked it. So I believe i have done the biggest fuck up in my auto motive life. After spending a good 10 hours masking, sanding, tacking, cleaning blah blah blah i laid my 3 layers of poly primer only to remember in the morning I had forgot to add the hardener, so lots of primer wasted and now i have to do 3 times the work to get back to where i was before i sanded, fuck my life. I have lost all interest in the car currently and likey will let it just sit for a few months while i save for the bumpers and other shit

Damian
09-18-2011, 08:15 PM
I hate it when you do something like that. I've had a few moments where I've spent hours on something only to forget something or broke something that requires tons of work to fix.

Shaolin Crane
09-19-2011, 10:42 AM
Yup, very angry with myself. Started wiping off what i could in the engine bay and hatch piece. Even with gallons and gallons of MEK its still a pain and makes a huge mess. Then i'll have to resand everything again, i'll likely not forget to add hardener again, i hope...

Took the crank over to be checked out and just like the rest of the engine it is worn out, needs to be ground down. So i'll have a completely new engine once it goes in the car, i guess now i have a reason to keep the boost down.

Damian
09-19-2011, 08:12 PM
Are you going to get it lightened and balanced at the same time?

Shaolin Crane
09-19-2011, 10:11 PM
Nope, dont need too. Having it lightened would require a rebalance, only reason to have it lightened would be if i was spinning big rpm but im not with this one. It will have maybe a max power range of 6000, where the stock redline is 6250. So im still sticking with the budget theme and only doing whats really needed. So far the rebuild has cost me...
$180 for the pistons, tank, bore, hone, tap to 1/2", clearance the pistons, and hanging of the rods.
$200 head studs, main studs, adjustable guide plates, timing chain
$180 head gaskets
$70 cam grind
$320 for head work, porting, valve job, etc
$120 rockers
$100 molly rings and bearings

Still need various gaskets, pushrods and an intake then im all set, far over budget but the piece of mind for a new engine is nice, plus it will run hard without the vortech and be an obsolute monster after it.
Figure 9.3:1 at 14psi with a charge cooler will be about 500-550rwhp and about 410-430rwtq for under 2k, not bad at all.

Shaolin Crane
10-02-2011, 04:44 AM
So i took about a week off to recoupe my feelings towards the car, I have about 70% of the primer removed just the last 30% is on the doors and is in some difficult places to get to and all requires hand sanding then MEK to remove the excess. Thankfully I have Ron, Erik, and David coming over tomorrow to help me knock it out. I figure the 4 of us will be able to make some major head way in only a couple hours and I can focus on getting everything re-prepped again for my body man to come down and do the finish work on everything, still lots of various things that need to be finished before this upcoming friday. Once the body work is done we'll prime the entire car and then move to painting the bay, jambs, doors and hatch. This way i can re-assemble the car and start getting some shop space back while starting on the wiring and interior. It'll likely be around feb that i get all the needed body panels.

Today I finished up the front dent on the roof, back dent is about done and so is the fender lip, Tony will finish those though. Pic time

10-02-2011, 08:43 PM
So I have to start off with a huge thanks to Ron, Erik, and David. They came down and helped me for the better part of the day sanding, scrubbing and wiping i'd say they is 15% or less on the car now and it gave me a little time to fix the huge dent and wrinkle in the other side of the fender. Tomorrow i'll take a day since mondays usually consist of huge amounts of homework for Vaness, grocery shopping, preparing food for the week, etc. Tuesday however i'll finish the rest of the jambs and start sanding again. Wednesday i'll smooth everything together and etch it all in prep for friday, then hopefully i'll get some color on it and start assembly again. Pics to come later as the night ones didnt turn out very well.

Thanks man
So I finished sanding off the rust from the car sitting while my back was injured, finished the engine bay, door jambs and hatch jamb. This week i'll re-sand the doors, weld the hatch logo pinholes and re-sand. Just waiting on an opportunity to paint the jambs and bay so I can re-assemble the car and get some shop space back. Possibly get the interior back in and work towards getting the car running. Though that likely wont happen until our anniversary. Here are the pics

I wish, its the only silver in a single stage finish, i think i have the technique for spraying down but its difficult to get a smooth surface out of it since it is pretty sloppy when i shoot it. Most likely my POS gun. I'd really like you to see it in person before deciding if its acceptable.

Saturday we're gonna spray the jambs on the doors and hatch, just not the body portions of the jambs, it will make for a smoother process and a better finished product. This way I can assembled the interior and get the car running and tuned the worry about the paint and brakes later.

So since i hate all things blingy
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0804.jpg
I lightly blasted the housing for a satin look
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0806.jpg
Then sealed it with a light coat of ceramic silver
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0807.jpg
Now everything matches, gonna order a few more pounds of silver to finish everything off. Once I grab this new truck i'll continue progress at full steam ahead in the event i need to sell it. Which i really dont want to do :(

You can have bling without shine. Just dont ask Ron for his opinion :smack:

Wow i've been lazy on updating, then again, nothin' really goin' on. Until today.
1. Finally found someone with a deal on the brackets I need for the blower system. $65 shipped, woot.
2. Thanks to Ron I know have a smog pump, blinged it up some.
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0979.jpg
3. SCORED some GT500 seats today, power with heat. For only $200. They are clean but needed a little work to get to my standards.
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/5Lb5I25H93K73M33F6c2a3699c1bb38181984.jpg
Notice how the seats have a shiney look to them, this shouldnt be the case with leather. Means its starting to dry out.
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0986.jpg
Different light to see what I mean.
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0987.jpg
After doing the first prep layer of mink oil to soften it up the way it should be. I only did the seat on the left to show the differences.
http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc322/ShaolinCrane/IMAG0988.jpg
I only did one layer, tomorrow i'll do a few more layers after heating the seats a bit with a hair drier. Today was just a test, it will need about 5 applications to make it feel like skin again. But for the price I am thoroughly happy and believe they will look tits in the car.

Car is wrapped up cause the cats keep peeing inside of it. So i'll unwrap it to clean the carpet and likely put them in after paint.

So I have acquired/ordered the following
90mm LMAF
UPR Boostmaster ($99 New from UPR)
340lph Fuel Pump

Also dropped off the car at my buddy's shop so we can finish it there before taking it to the paint booth. Should be about 2 weeks until its finished.

Just need a filter, adjustable fpr, and a maxflow bypass and things are on.

IIRC its the EC700 clear from PPG. Back to back clear that sands like pixy dust and once fully hardened is like glass and shines as such. Probably the best clear made by PPG.

Yeah, its kinda the only clear that can be used envirobase. Not a bad thing, just gotta stick to one paint system. I want to show people that waterbourne isnt as bad as people spout off to be. Mainly cause no one has used it or seen anything done with it.

Well there are a few reasons for that IMO. Most don't have the proper environment for it, so it's easy to claim its bad cause they will more than likely not use it. Second, only your damned state mandates it lol, and lastly it's just as good, but the dry times/requirements almost add a step. Painters mock it for good reasons, but being someone that paints its something I'd like to try.

Waterborne is what all auto manufacturers use now. It also drys faster then lacquer, not sure where you heard it takes longer. It has a 15 min flash time, the clear, like all clears is what takes a while to properly harden, even so, when we sprayed the bay, it was 80% hardened in the first 30 minutes. It was a different clear, but that's pretty damn impressive IMO

Agenda for this weekend, finish all my fucking powder coating. I have a bunch of stuff of my own as well as other peoples. Once that stuff is finished i'll officially have a turn key engine.

I'm not worried about it. I've gotten pretty good at installing engines, as long as you know you're inevitibily going to scratch something, you'll be less irritated about it.

Blower and PS pump. Mounted the PS pump this morning, blower will be left off while breaking in the engine and clutch. I have the stock injectors, intake tube and MAF and once i feel comfortable with the break in, i'll bolt on the blower for tuning. Hopefully Jamie lets me make a pass or two on the dyno at work for some n/a baseline pulls before tuning. We will see.

Tough to say, my painter is going through some work changes, so i'm thinking it wont happen until the end of the month.

I dont have everything for the car quite yet, i need need axles, brake components and subframe connectors. Ron has a few parts I need, the others are highly desireable so likely i'll buy them new.
