absolutely! I had 5-6 year old balding michelin tires on aprox. 7/10 stock
6 inch wide wheels.
I received 3 17x7 inch Alloy wheels with two kumho ecsta spt and one kumho ecsta ast (or act) with wheels in perfect condition and tread still at about 80%. tires are 225/45/17
count it, even at 100 bucks est per wheel thats $300, throw the cost of tires on there, 140 est x 2 for the spt = 280, + 100 est for ast/act = total cost of the three = 680 not including mounting and balancing.
even if it costs me $200 to fix the rim, I'm picking up
THREE Goodyear Eagle F-1 tires today with EXCELLENT tread, made in 2008 (so figure still tons of life and miles on them) for 75 bucks. My fiancees brother works at Dynamic Autosports in Lake Forest and will mount the tire for me. total cost = 275 (not to mention I'll have 2 extra tires for spares or to sell.) it's a win win. Wider Wheels, better tires less cost then buying new tires for my stock set?? figure 4 tires at est 125 (halfway between both tire costs) is still 500 bucks not including mounting and balancing. What can I say... I'm down.
