I've heard of alcohol and water/alcohol injection, but not straight up water injection. Curious.

You get greater cooling effect with alcohol or alcohol/water. The technical term for the evaporative qualities for the reason escapes me at the moment. One of the beneficial side effects is that your combustion chambers will be clean of all carbon deposits.

Meth injection is also highly corrosive to gasoline engines

I was thinking of doing Meth injection to bring down my intake temp's. But i might switch it up to water when i put on the larger blower.

I ran water injection from '79 up to 2001. It is a little tricky but if done correctly, it is very effective in stopping ping and (as Bob Said) cleaning carbon off chambers and pistons.

I used it over the carb ( and carbs). Setting it up for FI is going to be interesting. I have some thoughts on it.

Personally i would stick with meth so you get the added fuel benefit as well

As long as you run windshield cleaner concentrate you can find it

Inwas told they don't well it here due to the emissions it lets off and I've never seen any sold at a gas station or anything.

Hey kids, you can distill your own ethanol fairly easily, run some to cool temps, drink some, whatevs. Yes methanol is somewhat better than ethanol for cooling properties, but you can't drink it . . .or bad things happen if you do.

NOTE: This is frowned on by the gub-ment, an added bonus!

This is 100% alcohol, not methanol, which from a few tuners I have talked to, is perfectly fine to run in a meth injection system as long as its diluted with distilled water.

Ethyl alcohol = Ethanol
C2H5OH
Makes you drunk if you drink it.

Methyl alcohol = Methanol
CH3OH
Makes you blind if you drink it.

Note the superior specific heat of vaporization of methanol.

Should have been more thorough with my use of "100% alcohol" Denatured alcohol or isopropyl alcohol can be used in a injection system with similar results.

I have about 400 gallons of methanol at work I can tap into from time to time if I need to. Plus one of the companies we deal with carries it too, so I'm sure I can get it fairly cheap if need be. The expensive part is the actuall kit itself, which is one of my future purchases. I like the AEM progressive kit the sell, which I want a progressive kit.

Reason i like isopropyl instead of meth is if i run out somewhere i can pull into any gas station, cvs, supermarket and grab a bottle of rubbing alcohol and drop it in and be good to go

They sell a 1 gallon container for the tank, I will be getting one of those as well.

If you can fit it I would, unfortunately with all my diesels i dont have much engine bay space, i have more space in my mustangs, so i never went with a meth kit cause i didnt want the 1 liter reservoir

If you never use your windshield sprayer, you could always use that as your bottle. I'm sure your bottle is quite large. I don't have a spare tire or even the jack parts in the car anymore. My battery is in the spare tire well on one side and the meth kit will go on the other side. The cover still fits perfectly over the tire well, so no one even knows the battery is there.
