Before you hone it check to see what your piston to wall clearance is now. With the high silicon content in the SRP pistons you will probably want to go no more than .0050 but you should check with SRP. You don't want to make it too wide or the piston will rock and slap around in the cylinder.

You check it like this.

You're not going to check your piston to wall clearance, are you? You're just going to hone it and then bolt it back together.

Haha, you don't know me that well Ron. I do have $8K into my powerplant. And I am capable of using a feeler guage. So no, I'll check it first.

I looked up a knurled piston, that means cutting grooves in the piston skirt so you can run it with LESS clearance. Not sure how that would help.
