Anyone know a good machine shop that has experience with aluminum 4.6L Ford blocks? One in South OC or close to Anaheim preferred.

Try Troy at Ford Performance Solutions in Anaheim.

I know they work on heads, not sure how far they go with blocks, but they assemble some monster motors that's for sure.

From their website, it doesn't look like they do any machine work, but I'll give them a call.

I know they mill heads and work like that. But align hone, etc., don't know. In any event, Troy should know to send you if they themselves can't do it. Tell him Ben with the Vette conversion referred you, not that that will get you anything, but hey. :) I'll be having them fly cut our pistons and balancing the rotating assembly on the project car once I get the clutch setup.

Hey Joe, just talking to a pal at work who was an old time racer and he said these guys are fantastic, and pretty close to you. Looks like there still even in business.

Thanks, Ben. I'll keep them in mind if the recommendation I got from Gonzalo at GTR doesn't work out.
But what makes you think I'm close to Baldwin Park?

. . . But what makes you think I'm close to Baldwin Park?
Because I had Garden Grove (not BP) on the brain.

Engine Dynamics-- I used the one in GG for nearly 12 years. We did some very interesting combos. Don later sold it to one of the shoppe workers. I quit engine building in 93. Haven't used them since.

That's what my pal said, that they were in GG. Mmm, are these the same guys I wonder, and they moved to Baldwin Park. He said they were the shit for a long time. No BS, but did work for racers up to high levels. Even the Porsche boys went to them for detail work.

I believe the guy that took over was a "Don" also. He was sharp. Find out the name of the guy who owns it now if you can.:D

From the review on Google maps. (Always to be taken with a big grain of salt.)
"These guys are the best around and fast acting. Mechanical wizards. Hot Rodding experts! Race winning tuners. Practical common sense rules the thinking process. Call me if you want to verify the tructh about my statements. I am a return customer. These guys have tuned up several V8 rides for me including my 505 ci. Big Block Chevy with a 6-71 Blower and Two 850 cfm holley carbs. Ask for John Avery when you call the shop."

Doesn't ring any bells.
