Counter Terrorism : Soviet Style
In 1985 4 Soviet Diplomats were kidnapped in Beirut. The Soviets dispatched KGB group alpha. They didn't look for the kidnappers, a Sunni org that decided they wanted to be taken seriously by killing one of the hostages. They found the brother of the leader, removed his genitals and mailed them to his mother. The hostages were immediately released with apologies.
