Default New Member with 2006 STS-V

Hi everyone. I am a new member from Orange County. I have a few cars but my current daily driver is my 2006 Cadillac STS-V. I hope to meet members in a few weeks on the Carbon Canyon meet.

Welcome aboard. We're meeting this Saturday at Nicks if you're around.

Hey Bob - welcome to the board!!!

I haven't been on the Cadillac board in a while - I need to get on it.

Definitely post up pics and details when you have a chance

Oh, and one question: Do you know why Cadillac put 6 lug rims on all the V-series cars - I could never figure out why

The only reason I can think of for the 6 lug wheels is that the Caddy engineers were smoking rope and thought it would be funny to throw people a curve. It really sucks since any aftermarket wheel cost about $1000 each. They regained their senses since the 2009 CTS-V have the normal 5 lug wheels.

I have pictures posted on cardomain.

I will try to meet you guys in Fullerton.

These two companies are the ones that I aware of that will make wheels for the STS-V. They have to be custom ordered.

http://www.forgeline.com/
http://www.hrewheels.com/

Both companies make good wheels, but they are expensive.

The typical companies like BBS, OZ, TSW and Team Dynamics don't make wheels for the STS-V. TireRack and Discount tires have no wheels available on their website.

HRE rims are awesome, but they cost WAY too much money IMHO.

Here is you tube video of a D3 Modified STS-V. I was told that this one has between 575-600hp. The flyby is pretty impressive and the test driver had the STS-V over 160mph. Making a little fun at MB C63 expense.

mmm the C matches with the CTS, the STS is more E/CLS territory... let alone a modified STS.

With that being said thats one hell of a nice car. Especially when you consider how rare the STS-V is, definitely not a car you see every day!

But maybe im just bias in both areas....
