Auto Cool II
I'm looking for a good fan controller for my Typhoon. Looking around I found the Auto Cool II controller. Everything it says in the description looks good. Anyone tried it or even heard of it? I might try it, and it does come with a 1 year warranty and they are located in La Habra.

If it works the way it says it does, I can wire it up to the high speed in my fan and it won't kill my alternator. When low kicks in, it just runs all the time in the higher heat.

That seem like alot of money, but that's just me. It seems to me that a simple mercury switch could do the job just fine.

The Flexalite fan controller I want is $154 plus shipping. It turns the fan on at 60% power and ramps it up if it needs to. This one is completely different.

I finally bought this thing today. I decided to get this one over the Flexalite one because I like pulse width modulation over a relay. Another positive note to this is since the guy is in La Habra, he is hand delivering this to me tomorrow. Can't beat that!

Got it today. The guy that designed it and sells it showed me how to hook it up and everything. Can't wait to use it now.

are the wire connections always exposed or is there a waterproof cover.
140-180 seems narrow esp since his ad says "ABOUT"
USE THE BLACK KNOB ON AUTO COOL II TO SET THE TEMPERATURE RANGE FROM ABOUT 140 F TO ABOUT 180 F.
I like the direct connections. I replaced my sensor and had to splice it in. Its not working again and not sure why; if the sensor went bad or isn't compatible with the adjustable module or?.

They are exposed right now, I'm gonna make a cover that I can screw down with 2 screws. The guy that makes it showed me his in his little Metro, and he had it right in front of his radiator support wide open to the elements. I could tell its been there for quite some time. His had a direct line of sight to the outside. Mine will be hidden behind the grill but I can reach it from the top.
He has a resistor or something for when the fan is needed for the a/c so the fan doesn't kick in 100%. If the engine gets too warm, the controller takes over and will speed up the fans. I'm really anxious to see this thing in action.

This controller is really cool. It starts off really slow and slowly builds up speed as the temp gets higher. I like it a lot!
