I think there would be too much wind resistance at high speed. It would get annoying driving around on the freeway fully exposed to the wind. And it looks like if you tried to accelerate too fast or if you got hit from behind you'd fall on your ass and be helpless as a turtle.

forget wind resistance... i'd just be afraid of debris hitting me in the crotch. haha
