My mom's SRT4 lost the timing belt and bent all the valves yesterday... at 92K miles. So for the 3rd time I get to pull the head on an inline 4 dodge motor.
Track record:
Neon: Lost timing belt at 82K miles, needed all new valves.
Neon: Lost trans at 89K miles.
Neon... ... ...lots of problems before 100K.
SRT4: Lost timing belt at 92K miles, prob needs all new valves.
If my Jeep didn't have a Mercedes engine I'd be scared right now. And oh yeah, my mom called Dodge to ask for a service estimate. They quoted her $5K. They won't fix it, they want to replace the engine.
Unless its a 2nd gen Viper, I don't see any Dodges in my future.
