Default Glenn? Porting heads for low end?

Not sure if I mentioned but I'm going to put my L48 in the boat. My plan is to buy some junk yard 58cc 3rd gen F Body heads (which don't make hp), which will up my compression from a low 8:1 to a high 9:1, and match them with a hydraulic flat RV/ marine cam.

Now this motor will probably top out around 3500rpm, maybe a bit higher, but I don't know. So, if I wanted to port these 3rd gen 5.0 Camaro heads, how would I do it? Or is it dumb to port heads that will see only 3500 rpm?

Teach me teach me. Instructional pics are always welcome.
