Agreed. I really don't care what you claim to have done in the past, when you post an estimate almost half that of what everyone else posts... Are you the supreme authority? Enjoy your 195hp valueless rubber bumper. That thing flying past you is me in my POS Neon.
...As much as I'd like to stay around while HalfMoon strokes his false sense of supreme self-authority, I've got a first page full of reasonable estimates... and I'm out. Find me on Motorgen if you have a question, or try HalfMoon first, he seems to know everything despite the consensus.

My caa. Everyone estimated between 16-18K, which is what I expected, one dude thought it was worth maybe 20, I'm not so optimistic. Then this moron comes out saying that it's worth less than 10K.
Please don't offer your own estimates, this is touchy and there's a reason I asked elsewhere. Others don't know that I've done all this work myself, you might tend to factor that in when in reality, you shouldn't, because it doesn't matter. This would have been a $10-20K paint job for anyone else. And the motor/ SC/ trans would have been twice as much had I paid someone else to assemble and drop it in.

BTW, I'm now leaning back towards a bike. I think it would be best to keep the C3 tucked away in OC (everyone says that I'd regret selling it) and sell my jet skiis, then buy an R6.
It's hard enough to parallel park my Neon everyday, a C5 wouldn't be any easier. And in reality, there is never any close parking at my school. A bike is the only thing that would save me from walking a mile everyday. I think I should just do some interior work on the Vette to make it nice for the GF, keep the Neon to commute when it rains or when I need to carry books back and forth, which will be frequent. And buy a bike as a DD. This would also be less of a drastic trade. And I love the jet skiis, but a bike would be so much more practical right now.
But if someone does want to trade their C5Z for some or all of my toys... I'm not making any promises.

As you know, costs INTO a car have little to nothing to do with what the market will bear for them. Technically, I would want like $30k for my Vette. My guess is that if I really cleaned it up and polished loos ends, I'd be doing good for $15-20k if I could find the right buyer. A clear loss of $10k input.
In your case because you started at a very low cost and all the value was created with your own sweat equity, you will be money ahead of what you put in. It's just a matter of how much. Also, like I said, it'd be real hit and miss for your C3 as there really is no "market" for what you have. It's just a matter of finding THE guy who just has to have an S/C C3 Vette with a bitch'n paint job, etc.
BTW, CA prices for C3s seem to average much higher than the rest of the country.

This would definitely be more along the lines of my thinking. The only change I'd consider is a larger bike. The R6 is cool, but you gotta rev it to get power. The thing I love about my Bandit is that it has an almost V8 like power range.
