Default Project "I sure hope I know what i'm doing"

Well, here is the new ride. I'm fucking exhausted and i'll post the story tomorrow. But for now i'll say the truck runs like absolute shit, interior is trashed and the trans is on its way out. But its a diesel and its blue and i'm already buying goodies for it.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting the trans issue. The OD light is flashing and I can smell burning transmission fluid and it barely gets out of its own way and the EGT's are through the roof. I'll start tinkering tomorrow. Just winding down before I pass out.

Thanks guys. Today I tried pulling the codes and my scanner wouldn't pull them. I have a feeling whoever did the xlt interior swap didnt hook up the OBDII system properly. I checked it for blow by and it passed easily. No apparent wire frays so i'll need to start replacing sensors.
First things on the list:
Replace windshield and head liner while its out
Fix gear selector handle, its sloppy and keeps me from being able to turn the key
Seat foam kit and possibly an upholstery kit depending on their cost. If not, i'll make new ones.
Trace down white smoke at start up
Erratic idle
Battery issue
Replace head lights

I went down to the yard to pull some lights and found out the want $36 each. Fuck that, a new set, with ambers and trim are $63.

Also ordered SS bellowed up pipes for the super duty turbo setup. The stock ones are leaking terribly so its a win win. Also need to track down a GTP-38r and late 99 spider and intercooler. Going to grap a set of late 99 heads to redo, new valve springs, smoothed chambers, new cups, freeze plugs, seals and a fresh deck. Seller is throwing in the 3" turbo plenums for free.

Depending on when my other goodies from the 08 sells will determine when i get some stage 3 injectors from my buddy. This setup should make for a very reliable 400rwhp and mid 20's mileage wise.

He has a GTP-38, not the R though. Waiting on him for a price.

You should be able to rebuild a BB turbo, just remove the bearing and the housing hey are in.
