It'd be a hoot, looks solidly put together, but it won't pass the sniffer in CA and you'd almost certainly need 93+ octane.

I wish I had the money he put into mods alone. A stock LS6 block would have been a better buy than all that other stuff. A few bolt one would probably get you close to those numbers.

It's overbuilt, that's the beauty. As long as it's lubed and cooled you're just never going to get to the envelope of that motor on the street. "Abuse it" and it's mild for what it was built for.

Same cam with less duration and it would pass smog and run on 91 easily. Probably only lose 30hpish in the process.

224/224 at 114LSA is what I have and is generally regarded as the largest smogable cam in CA. It's a lot more mild than that one. At 11.5:1 comp, headers and a good tune (especially if you could run a bigger cam) I guess 91 is plausible as long as it doesn't get too hot , but this is sort of where I'm at, through I have a smaller cam and SHITTY stock exhaust and if I push much 91 Cali gas pings.

Exactly, change the duration but leave the lift and lsa the same. The forged pistons in that motor will increase efficiency a bit. 91 and smog is not out of the question. "moddifing" the exhaust would be in order though.
