Well, looks like I CAN do it.
I called my boss at the smog shop yesterday and told him to put me back on the schedule for the 18th. I told him I just couldn't swing the cash+lost day of work. He called me today and told me he would pay my entry fee, cause he knows how bad I wanted to go, and he appreciates how hard I work!
