I should have taken pictures while I had the Cobra apart but I didn't. I also am not running a catch can and after 70,000 miles my valves still look good. I do get a little bit of oil in the intake but it is not much and hasn't seemed to hurt the performance of the Cobra.

that VW was bone stock with about 22k on the clock. Can't explain what else happened.

Well I'm pushing 12psi on the Cobra and all there was in the heads was a little brownish color on the floor of the intake port. That VW must have had something wrong with it.

^^^ agreed. Mine was pretty clean inside too with 90k, no catch can.. grip of oil in the intercooler pipe though. I'm guessing that vdub setup isn't as well designed hahahaha

My guess is that he had a turbo seal leaking causing an oil leak in the intake. I had this same issue with the Cobra with the Vortech. That may also be why my intake ports are brownish.

I don't use a filter or a catch can in my PCV line, it just sucks in 2" in front of the compressor wheel. And my intake, pistons, and combustion chambers are still clean as can be.

Must be GM motors are just better.

True, I did have a valve train failure at 82K miles and a transmission failure at 87K miles in my Chevy Neon. Oh wait.
