Holley, Autolite, Performer???

Remember, FORDS are what I love, what I do.
The carb is an Edelbrock. I would totally be willing to wash your car if you came up and helped out. Not to brag but I think I am getting pretty good at auto detailing and Sean is becoming a good assistant.

You stated you had a few back fires. Did you have the back fires before it ran rich or after? It's not common to have back fire thru the carb in a rich condition except for retarded timing or bad cam lobe.

OR, are you back firing thru the exhaust?

Before it seemed like it was through the carb and the backfires when we were driving was through the exhaust.

First thing- is check the floats and needle and seats. It's quite common for the floats to stick. What happens the fuel evaporates and the floats extend down and sticks. Blow out the needle and seat for crap.

There is not a power valve (like a Holley) on an Edlebrock to blow out with carb back fires.

Try this stuff first. We'll talk on phone soon.
