Everyone may disagree with me, but I don't see the point of forging the motor and retaining stock compression. The car has a blower on it. In the long run if the car is going to stay blown, lower compression is the way to go. You won't lose too much power by dropping the compression to 9 to 1 and it gives you room to grow and a higher margin of safety. I'm telling you, eventually you'll want a TVS or something else on there

If you want to build a N/A setup I would put some badass heads on the car with a cam and forged rods and pistons and be done with it.

So i looked up how much power is lost with a low compression motor, its like 5% Thats nothing I thought it was gonna be much higher then that. So it will be something that I keep in mind when I get her all fixed up

Remember thats 5% across the whole rev range. That is a significant amount of area under the curve. Let the guys at the shop tell you if you need to drop the compression or not.

It's always easier to get more power with boost. Bigger blower. Get all forged parts, you never know what you'll want to do in two years.

This is the quote i got from RPM, Everyone else seems to be very busy (they couldn't get my car in for almost a month)

Quote:
Forged Pistons
Forged "H" beam rods
LS2 crank - chamfered & micro-polished
King main, rod,cam bearings

Decked

Honed
Line-Honed
Balanced
Assembled

Installation and tuning are available - $1975
The above installation price includes removal of the original engine -
removal, inspection, cleaning and transfer of parts and reinstallation of
the engine with dyno tuning.

Not included in the above but needed
1) Fluids - oil/antifreeze, etc.
2) Head Gaskets
3) Front Cover Seal and Gasket
4) Rear Cover gasket & seal

Total = $4964.87

The cam, pushrods, springs and retainers would be an additional $795.

5700 doesnt seem to bad

I so called it in post #3. Dude This is going to rock. Are you changing the pulley? What was the final compression ratio that you guys decided on?
