I got a parking ticket in Hollywood many years ago. I put in enough money in the meter for 1 hour of parking. I set a count down timer for 45 minutes. When the timer went off, I walked to my van. The meter maid was putting a ticket on my van. I still had 7 minutes left for the hour according to my watch. I told the meter maid that I should still have time left on the meter and the meter is running fast. She just smiled and took off. I wrote to every new channel and a few month later there was an expose that the meters in LA ran fast and help generate $$$$ in parking tickets. I fought my ticket and got it dismissed. Cities are looking for any way to increase revenue.
