My guess is that on street tires, you're more likely to get axle hop (in a C3) and break half shafts/diff before the trans goes.

Plan would be to replace diff with a 12 bolt and do big fatty tires at the same time. I actually would like to keep my rims and just widen them. Also, go with a thicker sidewall. Maybe 315 35 19, something like that. Maybe I'll pick up some 19s from a Viper if that's cheaper, but I'd hate to have to change my user name again.

Wheel hop has never been a problem for Cambria, bigger tires might change that, but so far her stiff ass suspension has served well.

viper spec is a 26 spline input, cobras etc had a 10 spline. and ive seen 700-1000 hp cobras on t56s all day long. No problems, drag launches, slicks, you name it.

Suckers are robust, to say the least, though you will want the better input shaft past 500ish. Just what ive researched/seen, my .02

26-spline input shaft (GM)
26-spline input shaft (Dodge)
10-spline input shaft (Ford)

From what I've heard, the 93 Borg Warner LT1 T56 was the only one with issues.
