Funny story. So I'm doing some research for my engine and I come upon this thread. haha. Well I got the T3/T4 so what I'm looking for now is a good stand alone ECU. The engine is going into an older car so I want to get rid of all the unnecessary stuff.

Why not use the factory ECU that came with the engine?

It wasn't very clear the extent to which the factory program could be modified to ignore things we don't care about. Basically he's after a bare bones, ultra clean install.

Can't use the stock ECU with out doing some pretty serious work. More importantly because it's not going into a smog year car I'm going to get rid of all the excess vacuum lines and wires that I don't need. Stock ECU definitely won't be cool with that. I am looking into some Nistune stuff that uses the stock ECU but with a secondary daughter board added to the ECU. I'm not sure if it will be cool with me getting rid of all the junk though .
