Default Ignition help!

Alright guys, I need some help and no one on the Typhoon boards is helping me. I bought this from a guy off the Typhoon boards that took it off of his. I got this for free for working on a guys Eclipse, which will work with my stock distributor with the MSD wiring harness.

So my question is will my MSD distributor work with the harness and Streetfire, or just the distributor and streetfire, or do I need to sell the MSD distributor and stick with my stock one? This is for the 93 Typhoon btw.

One way or another, I will be running the Streetfire.

This is the distrubutor setup that is stock, even though its and Accell billet one, but you can see it has the 2 plugs on it.

Boost, because sometimes atmospheric pressure just isn't enough.

MSD stands for May Suddenly Die just so you know. Stay stock if you can or go with a different ignition manufacturer

Ive read quite a bit of some people having problems with MSD, and others have used them for years with no issues.

I might just try and sell the distributor and just stick with my stock one. Even the guy that sold me it won't even reply to my question about how he hooked it up. I'm not asking for a refund, just some info. I'm glad I never had to deal with this stuff on my Eclipse.

I hate the MSD stuff that I have but I couldn't afford to go with the Mallory products I wanted. I'm on my second MSD box in the Cobra in 6 years. If an MSD box gets wet forget about it working until you dry it out. I've had to put a fan above the one in the Cobra a couple times after a heavy rain just to get the car to start.

If you want to install it then the link you gave to Summit for the ignition box has the instructions that show you how to hook it up.

My only concern is that the distributor I bought is different than the one that is stock. The shaft and gear is the same, electrically it's different.

Does it have a single plug that has a green and a purple wire? If so, it has to be used with an ignition box.

Anyone want/need a new distributor for a 4.3l v6? The guy that sold it to me bought it used and "never installed it", more like he found out it wouldn't work on his Syclone. That's what I get for not double checking the part number.

It does but the actual internals are different. Mine is ECU controlled timing not mechanical.
