Default The hp for the new DOHC 5.0 is...

According to a tuner the 2011 Mustang GT DOHC 5.0 makes 425hp "officially" but 468hp on an engine dyno. I think it's too high. If the 468hp # held up, that would equate to just over 397RWHP. I can't imagine the Mustang GT going from 270ish RWHP to 397RWHP in just one year.... Here are the quotes and original thread:

Every year the Camaro beats the Mustang. If this is true I hope Ford doesn't f it up by making the car 5K lbs.

Motors are getting impressive. I can't believe the base model LS motors are 400+ and the freakin V6 is 300hp! When the hell did that happen? That's an economy motor that would be worthy to drop into a retro rod project!

Who knows what this motor will really be until it comes out officially, but I'm interested. It sure would be great in a smaller two seater sports car.

I think that 468# is sans accessories. My guess is that it comes stock rated between 400-425hp and ends up putting down between 335-350rwhp stock

The SS motor is only 400 hp. So GM could drop the full 436 hp version if they wanted. Also, I thought the SS only had a 6.0L.

Nah, the SS LS3 actually has 426hp currently and is a 6.2. It was confirmed today that the new 5.0 4V has TI-VCT (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing). I think it's going to be a pretty impressive actually.
