Driver refused treatment from paramedics. Nice to see someone else without health insurance.

I always kind of wondered if my car caught on fire, if I would be able to replace the gaskets in the motor and salvage it. New HGs, intake gaskets, oil pan and timing gaskets. Replace all of the non-metal in the carb, and send in the blower for new seals. Should be good to go right?

See how I don't let little things like health cloud my mind.

That's going to depend on how hot for how long. Also, what was in motion during impact and how strong the impact. Throw in cold water on hot parts and odds really aren't so hot, I mean not very good.

More times than not, the metal is cracked, warped, annealed, heat treated, and just plain old fucked up beyond worth.
However, I did see a Duesenberg chassis that went thru a fire sell for $100,000 at Harrahs swap meet in Reno, 1975. Supply and demand .
