I guess it's because everyone in my family is taller than average then. I'm 6'4, my brother is 6'5, my wife is 6'2, all of my male cousins are 6'2-6'4 and Amy's male cousins are 6'2 and 6'9.

Slouching on one knee, and he's supposed to be only 6 foot? I can believe it. He looks prob as short as I do standing next to you and Im 6'1.

Makes sense that would skew my concept of the average living in So Cal. Ill bet the average height in So Cal is shorter than the average height in the US because of that.
