1940 Dodge project update
Hi there MG,
It's Been a while since I rolled out with MG on the 2012 Jan 1st, Tour-d-Orange run. Since then I sold the G37-TT June-2012 and started on the Dodge coupe. Checked it into a shop for fabrication located in Ontario CA. and what a mess that place was. I got out without a scrape money and all, had to send out preliminary summons demand letter to escape with my down payment.
Anyway, found a great fabricator in Riverside "Dukes Roll Cages". So here is some of the upgrade list so far. First bad news was that I pulled out the 440/528 Stroker, it was stock except for the new upgraded parts that could be seen, heads, distributor, intake, etc. all good but the engine was junk, I got lied to that's another story. The Trans appears to be fairly new and in good condition so it's up for sale. So I changed direction from a Twin Turbo 528. Now we are running a 540 Chevy built Bow-Tie motor, built heads and bottom end with a Mooningham 870 blower and dual 980 Holleys with a 700R GM race built trans. Installed on the fabrication build so far are; 14-point chrome molly roll cage tucked into the pillars and hidden in the body structure for a closed tuck job under the interior. The roll cage has removable door and back seat bars for everyday use, and extends into the engine bay attached at 3 points each side. Additional X frame in chrome molly between mid section frame below the drive shaft. New floor pan and trans tunnel, custom aluminum 20 gal fuel cell installed in a new steel basket with a steel bottom impact plate. Tucked battery trays in trunk, and fire wall between rear bench seat. Seats are "Glide" product bolted into the frame. The rear seat has a lift bottom with steel skirt storage. The Currie Third member comes out next week for a check up and upgrade. The new glides for the one piece nose go on next week, military grade slides rated at 1000 lbs. for the pair. I'm still building my dash and installing the steering, Willwood brakes, Vintage Air, electrical, air compressor, glass, interior etc.etc. At this rate I'm probably a good six months out minimum. Posting up a few pics, Take care all hope to roll out with ya-all soon.

I too was just completely fucked with by a metal fabricator, it's been a year and we're just barely getting the car back tomorrow.
