If they really wanted to run from the cop they should have stopped drifting, ha. Would have gotten away much quicker!

On a motard its actually quicker to make a turn with a drift then it is to try and carve like a sport bike, too high a center of gravity.

Obviously its not the case for all those turns, but watch a professional motard race and you'll see what i mean

I don't doubt that sometimes it will be quicker to let the ass end drift a bit as you come out of a final turn into the straight away, but I sincerely doubt that in any situation ever is drifting the fastest way around the full turn.

In a standard racing scenario you're probably right. But with motards and rally cars. Where the race switches from dirt to pavement and back again. It makes sense, also with how the motards are designed a carve just isnt going to happen.
