Raptor and Micro Raptor
No, this is not about the Ford trucks.
This is actually about Dinosours. The newest theory is that the Raptors were covered in feathers. So the Jursac Park movie had it wrong.
The Micro Raptors actully had FOUR wings and were covered in feathers and could fly/glide.
Cool Stuff.

How'd they derive that?

They discovered some complete fossils that were covered by Volcanic action that were complete with feathered outlines. It was really guite a good impression. Everything is different now about dinosuras.

Well, they always said birds were the direct decendents, so they just got their feathers earlier than previously thought? I'm guessing now it's a matter of which species and why. Imagine a giant feathered T-Rex, that's one scary chicken.

They were saying, that the T-REX could of had a feather like coat. This is going to change the way we think of scary. It's gives a WHOLE new meaning to being "chicken".

Raptors were actually pretty small as well. The versions like in Jurassic Park were at least 2x the real size.

Well, 6 ft Raptor fossils have been found. If the Raptor was allowed to evolve, they would of stood up right and had human like brain. So they would of been here instead of us. They would be human like in apperance except the features of the Raptor.
So what would FORD have named their new truck? Homo?
BTW; That is a picture of the "Micro Raptor"--the ones that fly/glide.

6ft long, yes, but they really are about the size of a turkey it looks like otherwise. Here is a size comparison for reference:
Velociraptor was a mid-sized dromaeosaurid, with adults measuring up to 2.07 m (6.8 ft) long, 0.5 m (1.6 ft) high at the hip, and weighing up to 15 kg (33 lb).

Why? What was the imperative to evolve? There are species now here on Earth that have been around, unchanged for many 10s of millions of years. Their design works, the end. Exactly why we branched off as we did, and changed as rapidly is a bit of a mystery.
