Default Remote Mount Turbo

What do you guys think about these? I feel like there would be way too much lag, and allowing that much space in front of the compressor will allow the air to compress and build pressure rather than being forced through the wheel.

I believe the first GTO into the 10's was a Head and cam, STS rear mount turbo set-up. I have heard nothing bad about the kit from owners that have them.

There was a guy on a Mustang forum that built his own twin turbo remote system and it worked well. He mounted the turbo under the car where the rear seat area is which is where the mufflers are normally on a Mustang. His only complaint was that the turbos were to low to the ground so he made a skid plate to protect them. This isn't an issue with the STS system as it puts the turbo further back up out of the way. He said that there really wasn't much lag. However, because the skip plate dragged over everything he decided to do a front mount with the turbos in the engine compartment. He didn't change anything else besides moving the turbo and of course the hot and cold sides going to them. He said that after moving them he discovered that he was getting some lag because moving the turbo closer to the headers made them spool faster.

Ditto, IF the kit builder knows what he's doing thier will be no issues at all.
Dyno Steve @ RDP Motersport has been making remote mount single and
double "sleeper" turbo kits for the Dodge / Chrysler Lx platform for years...
I can tell you, the only lag you'll get is trying find you brain in the back seat..
And as an old buddy of mine Dwayne that builds turbo Porsche SCCA race cars
told me when I aske him about turbo "lag"... "there is no reason a system should have any lag what so ever"! "if the guy building the system knows what he's doing, he will have the correct size turbo with the correct waste gate and blow off pressures to have the turbo spooling and making power @1500rpm)"

That's not too bad, that's just at the back of the motor. I've seen some crazy turbo headers on Vipers that push them further away than that and they're still right off the manifolds and therefore not remote mount.

I'd like to see a 10 sec car with the Turbo mounted where the muffler should be, like that GTO.

I do believe this is a built 408 on like 15+ psi, but the turbo is still just in front of the rear bumper.
