Wow, CF has a lot of good shit for sale.

The DRM AP racing kit is very nice. I am seriously considering it. It comes down to the Willwoods versus the APs. I will be ordering one of them tomorrow.

Unless theyre hardcore racing, most guys never go beyond what the stock brakes can take. The stock brakes are actually quite good with the right pad and rotor for the type of driving ones gonna do. But for looks and if youre gonna race, I'd stick to AP or Brembo. Ive driven a few cars with Willwoods and I didnt care for them. All the big manufacturers use Brembo for a reason.

See I've only heard great things about slr6 brakes for the front. A lot of people do stick with stock I went with c6z since there is a lot more pad then a C5Z. Brembos I haven't seen anyone run them but since they are so mainstream people do run them. If never been impressed with a car that ran brembos though even though I've never been in a corvette with them.

Lots of guys run wilwoods and brembos. The stock brakes are great for the street, not for the track. They all overheat. Even the 6 piston Z are no good over 500 rwhp with good rubber.

I have been running factory calipers with DBA 4000 rotors, Hawk dtc 70 pads, and motul 600 brake fluid. I have deleted the fog lamps and have brake cooling ducts with high temp hoses that are ported directly to the rotors. They are good for 3-4 laps then I have to give them a rest.

Things are very different on the track. Heat becomes a major issue.

My vette only really see's the road course then again I only have 400whp but dtc70s up front 60 in the rear aren't bad with my DBA 4000s but I'm only on r888s soon to be on nt05 to race in the stock class in the Corvette challenge. I know buddy was running 1:31s at big willow on r888s on st47s pad and that car ran 9 sessions mostly back to back no brake fade. But I see no problem with upgrading the brakes more stopping power =deeper braking zones and more trail braking =faster times
