You are correct I was definitely breaking your balls. The true magic trick is to figure out how 1 set of tires can last six years?

I wouldn't sweat losing for now. Things will change after you pass the bar and start getting paid.

I found out Saturday that even 325 drag radials aren't enough. Still smoke them in third,,,just much harder to do. A side benefit is it's not too squirrely when it loses traction.

P.S. I have found that once you get into the 500rwhp level..EVERYBODY races from 30+mph roll.

You can't compare a Toyo R888 to a Nitto NT555. The NT555 has a wear rating of 300 and the Toyo R888 has a 100. I'm running 285s on the back of the Cobra and they spin in second gear if I floor it. But if I run my NT01s (also a 100 wear rating) which are only a 245 I can give it full throttle in first without it spinning.

Adam, a softer tire would help a lot. The only problem is they wear out fast. You could go with a Toyo R888 or a Nitto NT01 that both have a rating of 100. Another option as Joe recommended is Nitto's new NT05 or NT05R. The NT05R has the same 100 wear rating as the NT01 but has a softer sidewall so the tire will obsorb the shock of the clutch better. The NT05 has a wear rating of 200 so it will last longer. Figure that you will get about 5000-6000 miles out of the NT01 and NT05R and twice that out of the NT05. Also, these are all summer tires and don't do well on wet surfaces.

Then he can start paying back what he owes for a couple years. He'll be in his 30s before he has any money, but that ain't too shabby really.

It's not my DD, only drive it on the weekends. Usually 20 miles or less.

Big_G,

CobraSS, I know they wear out fast. Something ridiculous like every 3K miles. Lucky for me, that should be at least 3 years of driving.

What size tire do you have now? I have 2 Toyo R888 245/40/17 that have one track day on them that I bought for $300 back when I did the Castrol challenge. I'll sell them to you for the same $300.

My tune is a manufacturer issue not a build/plan issue. I have rectified that issue for the most part. I put my foot into it all the time now.

Glad to hear it. But you get my point, shit doesn't always work out at first. Not many people can afford the motor, the driveline, the traction and to sort out all of the issues all at once.

My frankencar has a built upper body, and I intend to get it some legs in the future. Till then, the legs are going to suffer.

Ron, I'm on 19s. And I'm going to go with 295s.

Did you flare the fenders? Can't remember. 275 is about the max that will fit under a stock C3 body and suspension. Do the offset trailing arms get you much?
