Bore x stroke 3.63 in x 3.65 in/92.2 mm x 92.7 mm
Well BRUTAL, there you go. Smaller bore longer stroke. But don't worry, with today's modern hair dryer technology I'm sure you could get it to dance just fine.

Over and over I hear the C7 Vette will get a 5.5L V8. My guess is that it will remain OHV.

Here's what I want.
5.4 (327 important in Corvette History)
Direct Injection
Maybe DOHC
450 BHP
2,900 lbs Vette

While I get the idea of a larger bore and shorter stroke (so do the Italians) I'm guessing they didn't go on a weekend bender to come up with these specs.
Modern engines are built to run as-is from the factory, with high reliability, emissions, mileage, and (warrantied) performance. It seems they've done just fine by these standards.

Yea, but to really make GOOD horsepower you will need forced induction.

I remember in Hot Rod magazine in the '80's some one developed and made DOHC heads for a SBC.
