Yes. I was only talking the Dart compact there. Back in 62 the Dart was a full size street car that came with a 361 ci--but the 413 Crossram showed up in them.
There were a few other rare strictly build for race cars by all the the Big Three back them. The most famous are--the Super Duty Pontiacs, The Z11 427 "B" bodied Chevy and (of course) the Ford Thunderbolts.
Starting in 61 the move to smaller (and lighter) mid size cars started with dropping in SD 421 V8s by Pontiac into the Tempest.
The move to smaller cars came because Mopar was building uniti-bodied full size vehicles that were 200 to 400 lbs lighter than GM or Ford.
