Everyone in that thread is an idiot. A cop cannot illegitimately give you a ticket for one thing to punish you for another. If the speed limit was in fact 50, and the kid fought it, he would win. If the trial court judge tried to teach him a lesson and ruled against him, once he appealed it, he would win.

Look at OJ, they had to wait for him to actually do something illegal before they could get back at him.

Cops, and local good ol coutry dick hole judges only have enough power to make you go through different levels of appeals processes. Don't take sh*t from them if they're in the wrong.

You're missing the point. He doesn't need to pay for either. You're the reason cops get away with the stuff that they do. He's not your Daddy, he can't slap your wrist if he suspects that you've been bad. He can only fine you with what he knows and can prove that you've done.

He must not have seen this guy street racing, because he would have given him a ticket for that on the spot. Rather he saw him driving away from the scene of the crime and decided to teach him a lesson, he has no right to do that. In court, you are on trial for what you are charged with, and only that.

If he were knowledgeable, he'd be ticket free, street racing or not.

Spoken like a true lawyer

Having said that, could what he posted be used against him legally?

I don't really know yet, but from what I do know, I don't see why it couldn't.
