Default 12/20 Birthdays!

Yesterday was my birthday, as well as my father in law's as well. At 5:44pm yesterday, our 3rd child, Wesley, made it onto the 12/20 birthday list as well. Grandpa, dad, and son all on the same day, crazy I tell you!

Boost, because sometimes atmospheric pressure just isn't enough.

The Birthday Problem in probability is really interesting. Basically it's not what you might think intuitively. You hit 99% probability of a pair of persons having the same birthday (assuming equal birthrate distribution for simplicity) with a random pool of just 75 people.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_problem

The odds of just three people in a room of three having the same birth date is pretty slim, about 1 in 133,000. The odds of three members in an extended family of say 100 is not so slim at all, about 1 in 1.5(!).

Basically the probability of birthday matches grows very rapidly as the pool grows.

Very interesting. I would have thought the odds would be much higher.
