Your ultimate bastard vehicle
Any car, any power plant. What would you mix? There are plenty of cool vehicles with less then stellar engines. Hot rodding has been bastardizing cars for a long time now, how would you do it?
My ultimate bastard vehicle would be a gunmetal nsx with an LS7. ![]() |
There's a bunch probably. But your choice would probably be my No. 1 as well actually. The NSX is a brilliant platform, and the engine wasn't bad (cutting edge in its day), but it's limp compared to what's available now.
 |
Its a civic motor, and is the only thing keeping that car from being an absolute monster.
|
That's a good choice. These are some of the ones I've thought about. Obviously these are not my ultimate choice but ones I've wanted to build over the years.
1970-72 Vega GT with an LS3 built for the road course. 1976 Mercury Capri Hatchback with a centrifugal blown 331 SBF also built for the road course. 1970-1971 Ford Maveric with a cetrifugal blown 393 SBF again built for the road course. |
I have a bunch of them actually. Here's another one. Old 240z with a BMW 5.0 V10 (a la M5).

I like that Datsun. Thats one of the cars Id actually like to build.

I'll take an LS9 & T56 in a Solstice with a factory warranty! Thaaanks. Oh ya, I'd color match the headlights too. ![]() I am also very much a fan of putting a Cobra engine with a Mendeola in the back of a Ranger with long travel control arm suspension. I would lovvve to do a wheelie in a prerunner at an intersection. Not a Ranger, but I wouldn't complain. ![]() Single turbo 2JZ in an S2000, or the classic LS in an RX7 will also blow my skirt up. |
You aint gonna do a wheelie at any street light. Just not gonna happen.
|
Almost forgot. I've always kinda wanted a Studebaker Starliner. Black with Scarlet red interior, nice stereo and a good ride. Don't need a whole lotta power, something a little more refined and smooth like a northstar or maybe Coyote

NSX drivetrain is essentially lifted straight from an accord. Engine may be midmounted, but its even transverse. Nice car, terrible drivetrain.
|
I'd also like a mustang with a diesel
|
Id like a Pantera with a new 5.0, or a 69 Boss 302 with a termi drivetrain. Think that would be amazing.

I've seen a few Panteras with 4.6 SVT motors in them Ive even seen a couple with Ford GT drive trains (5.4 SC motors and transaxle)

If a sand rail can do it in the sand with the same weight distribution and set up, I can do it on the street. :D |

Just find me one of those Mendeolas for less than $5K :o Quote:

I had a ls powered sandrail in here last year that DID pull tire on the street. :)
|
Pics or it didnt happen, and slightly pulling a tire and a wheelie is 2 different categories, adam wants to pull a Vin Diesel.
|
Slightly pulling tire? C'mon Guy. Sounds like you just got told, own it.
Jammer - Hells Yeah. |
I didnt get told, A tire is not a wheelie.
Here is pulling A tire, is this a wheelie? http://www.google.com/imgres?q=road+...Tqc2wAg&zoom=1 |
I would like to daily drive a Lincoln LS with a Terminator or Coyote engine and a 6-speed... saw someone who did a LSx in a Lincoln LS, but would be cool to see a swap done within the family.
I'd also love to have a resto-mod g-body (preferrably a Regal) with an LS7, 6 piston brakes, nice looking wheels, and a good suspension setup. A late 70's Ford F-150 with a coyote engine dropped w/ some suspension goodies. |

Fairmont with a 4.6.
Don't hate. I just like boxy cars. Hmmm. Why is it not embedded? |
Fixed it for you, dont use the embedding link just use the standard link
