Default Corvette cheaper to insure than Honda

http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...ars-to-insure/

It's funny that the cars associated with the ricer/ import scene are the worst cars to insure, while corvette made the best car to insure list.

That's because in no small part:

a) a high volume of said vehicles are in moderate to let's say, less than upper middle income areas (like Corvettes)

b) they are perpetually stolen to support the black market for parts

It's part of their massive sales success that makes it easy to move vehicles and parts as a commodity.

Honduhs are easy to steal and are stolen at a high rate.

The price difference between a EVO X, STI , or a Vette is <10K. The fact is that a lot of old dudes drive vettes and a lot of young dip-shits drive the rice.

A lot of Vette owners don't really drive their Vettes at all.

There are a lot of vette owners that do not use it as the primary means of transportation. This does not qualify as not driven at all.

I can't deny the fact that four of the worst ten are big import tuning cars. 18-24 year old idiots thinking that sticky rubber and AWD can cover up for driving ignorance.

I said don't REALLY drive their Vette as a qualifer. Specifically, garaged and covered, goes out on a cruise (and I mean cruise) maybe 20-30 times a year. That doesn't put the vehicle at much risk of being stolen by a 3rd party or damaged by the owner.

I'm not arguing about youngsters going nuts in import cars. I did specifically respond to the Honda bit, which has more to do about theft than anything.

The cost of insuring my 2003 Honda Accord is double the cost of insuring my 2006 Cadillac STS-V.
