Default If you had $6K and you could buy any car...

Which car would you buy? And why? I wonder what BGN8711 is going to say.

I'd probably buy a nice fox body Mustang.

Same here or a 94-95 SN95. They are both cheap to buy and cheap to make fast.

You're not playing by the rules. Find me a decent 3rd gen RX7 or an LS1 Camaro for $6K.

Just did a search on autotrader for both, anything less than $7K within 200miles, found nothing.

This is great.... this is how much money I'm going to spend on my car.

Link to said cars for me. This just made shopping that much easier.

Word, link me to classified ads, not wikipedia articles.

Turbo Mopars, especially Omni GTH

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/

It looks kinda sorta like an old GOlf, but it's totally different. Can be practical, somewhat fuel effecient, and absurdly fast if you want. I couldn't find any for sale, but I've seen very clean ones with lots of go-fast work for under $6k.

Other than that:
2nd Gen Camaro
Nice big dumb simple American muscle. Pre smog so you have a free hand.

Early 70s 280z
Great styling, small foot print, good handling, simple, pre smog, Japanese reliability.

Mitsubishi GT (Naturally aspirated V6)
The twin turbos are cool but much more than $6k I think. Nice car. Lots of aftermarket parts if you wanna go rice with body kits and performance goodies.

I actually know of a 73 Vette for under 4,000. I'd get that.
