Default Car Control - Proud of my wife!

So last night my wife went to meet her aunt and uncle for dinner. On her way home the front hub assembly let go on the Explorer while she was doing about 75 mph in the center lane with cars on both sides of her. She said it was like everything happened in slow motion. All that went through her head was me telling her to keep calm, don't jerk the wheel, pay attention to where the other cars are around you, gently steer the truck off to the shoulder. We've had many discussions about car control and what not to do if she ever had a blowout every time we've avoided an accident because of someone loosing control of their car in front of us. She always says she can't believe how I can keep on a conversation while avoiding an accident like nothing happened which always turns into me telling her how to avoid one. I'm really proud of her.

I don't the extent of the damage yet but I just bought new tires and luckily purchased a lifetime road hazzard warranty so at least the tire won't cost me to replace. I'll have to buy a new rim, hub assembly and brake line at least.

Good for her! My wife would have rolled 20 times because since she blows me off when I talk about car control stuff.

Boost, because sometimes atmospheric pressure just isn't enough.

Glad Amy is ok and she handled everything well.

I think Shannon would have rolled the car too. She blows me off as well when I talk about that stuff.

I think that is just how women see us... A bunch of worthless blowdhards that don't know shit. My woman hates my driving says I'm a horrible driver. Yet I have professional training and have driven on a bunch of tracks without incident. I wish she would just trust me when I tell her something about cars/driving. I'm still trying to get the phone out of her hands while she is behind the wheel... Ugh

My wife's not like that. She does get nervous/upset on occasion when I tailgate someone who cuts us off or something like that and she'll ask me to back off but she has every right. She know I can drive but things like that still make her nervous so I back off.

I really want to take her to Adam's track one day so she can ride in the Cobra with me. I think she would have fun on a small track like that. I think she would get scared on a bigger track like the Roval though. Maybe when I have the Cobra sorted out and get my new track tires I'll take her.

Rin, I am so happy your wife is ok and the truck was not severely damaged. Maybe you should let her take the Cobra out for some laps while you're sitting shotgun taking notes.

I would but she says it's too slow and that I should sell it and buy a Vette.

You should listen to your wife more often.

Not a bad idea. I'll have to do that with mine.
