What's the Fastest You've Ever Been In a Car?
Honor system. Be aware that if you mention when and where precisely and it's a public street/freeway you may be incriminating yourself (and if it's on a street you're just an asshole to boot.)
Me. 130mph on a freeway for just a couple seconds. It's where 4th tops out for me and the Vette pulls pretty hard all the way there. I'd like to do an actual top speed run someday, but I'd want to square away a ton of safety items first as I don't have a death wish of any kind.
Bonus points if you have video and it was on a lake bed or sanctioned event.

140 on a closed course, professional driver. But the closed course started to veer as it approached a road that looked similar to the brea canyon exit.
That was naturally aspirated, and it felt like the acceleration was still strong till I left off the gas.

I don think my 4032 forgings would take boost in overdrive for very long.

Boost, because sometimes atmospheric pressure just isn't enough.

I know the Cobras (like Sean's) don't do high speed runs because the ring tolerances are pretty tight and the higher sustained temps of a high speed run (like a real flying mile) have a tendency, apparently, to start melting the rings and fusing them to the cylinder wall. Which most people find to be sub-optimal.

Lol
I filed my rings to spec for an 800hp boosted ap, so Im not so worried about the rings. Theyre also stainless and thus resist detonation damage unlike moly rings. (Keep that in mind for the snake) But Ive melted 2 pistons already, I trust those JE forgings about as far as I could throw em
When I have money Id like to get a new block, cam and pistons.

135 by the tach crossing CA/NV line in 65 FI vette
100 continuously from Karlsruhe to Amsterdam in a 56 Mercedes 190
100 plus up the oxnard grade from Santa Barbara to Tustin in a 68 GP 400ci racing a ford.
90+ up cajon pass in 73 F250 428ci pulling a 25 ft offshore cruiser racing a 454 dullie pulling identical boat.
140 on funtucky speedway thru the front straight driving a drivetech stock car.
Would love to do 200+

Used to have a turbo Eclipse until I crashed it into my GTO. I should have kept it, I miss it's handling. I did that part right.
