Let's get the necessaries out of the way. The
2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG has debuted at the
2013 New York Auto Show, and it brought a 355-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder to the party. With 332 pound-feet of torque,
Mercedes-Benz says the engine is the "most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder production engine" with a power density of 178 hp per liter.
All that muscle gets pushed to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. As a result, the 2014 CLA45 AMG can click off a 4.5-second 0-60 miles per hour run on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Giddyup.
And that's to say nothing of just how terminally sexy this machine is. While the base car is attractive enough, seeing a properly aggressive
AMG front fascia, massive wheels and a proper ride height has done nothing but improve on the sedan's aesthetics.
AMG swapped the stock suspension for stiffer bits, including more rigid bearings and stiffer steering knuckles up front and an all-new four-link rear axle design. Interested? Mercedes says the CLA45 AMG will be on sale this spring for $47,450.
