In reality, something logistically supportable, probably something like a lightly armored, but not too conspicous diesel powered Jeep or other short/moderate wheelbase.

Raptor is pretty short wheel base, lots of power and 4x4. Though, would be nice if they offered it in a juiced up turbo diesel

My reason for the diesel of course is htat you can make yourself or run other things as substitutes. You won't be hydro-cracking petroluem in your back yard, but enkeivette has made biodiesel in his sink AIR. Lots of ways to do it.

I would want something relatively simple and dumb. BTW, the guys who are like a little scary serious about this for the real world love the old military CUC-V. They'are about dumb, simple, tough, easy to work on, etc.

I would go steal my old diesel suburban back. You could get like 800 miles on a tank if you were really careful.

I'd go for an old Benz or a diesel Caddy (VW pickup) that can run on filtered WVO and being in southern California, there would probably be a pretty good supply of the stuff with all the fast food joints around.
