Default Help me pick some tires for the vette!

Sup ya'll
In addition to the host of other issues my dear Nisha has, she needs new tires. I'm thinking about moving away from the run-flats and getting some good regular tires and am looking for recommendations.
I don't race or need drag tires, just some good comfortable (and preferably quiet) street tires for my SD to OC drives haha

(FYI C5 corvette, driven ~5-10K miles a year)

Thanks!

Kumho Ecsta

Seems like a decent value, good ratings, good price... hmm?

I have Nitto 555 tires and they've been great. Not sure if they make them in the size you need, but I highly recommend them if so.

The best all around tires for you vette are the Michelline PS2's. THey are available in both run flat and non run flat.

If you don't race you may wan to consider Nitto INVOs. THey are a luxary performance tire. (Treadware 200-220)

Other good option, but much more performance oriented are the New Kuhmo XS and the Bridgestone RE01R. (treadware 140)

BFG has the KDWs, that that have a treadware of 300, but they are loud.

Higher treadwear rating means they last longer?

Goal is greatest longevity, without going any worse than the factory tire grip. Noise-wise, i cant make a phone call in that car anyway so i dont think the tires are gonna change too much haha

The 555s look good, they also have a rating of 300 but iono what that means
and pricewise they're not too bad either looking like ~700 for 2 18s and 2 17s

its got uneven wear too so i need to get some alignment action going as well...haha another grand (total) out of my (currently non existent) mods fund

Yeah, higher number means more life generally (I guess each manufa. uses there own scale, but that's another story...).

sean, how's rain performance with the 555s? i'm hearing alot of smack about slip and slide status with those when its wet...how's ur experience been?
They seem damn good for the price, roughly 850 for all four...a steal compared to 1400 for run flats!
