Default Best instrument to receive money for private sale

So, other than cash, what are the best reliable "instruments" to receive money for the private sale of a vehicle?

- Money Order?
- Cashiers Check?
- ??

Cashiers Check by far. A buyer can put a stop payment on a money order easily, but for a cashiers check they need the signature of the payee to do it so it's safer for you.

Sean would it be a good idea to meet for the transaction at a bank so you can deposit the check before you hand over title. Do people forge Cashier checks often?

It happens, but it's not super likely. If you want to be absolutely sure, cash isn't a bad way to go
