Default 96 without OBD2 port??
I cant find an OBD 2 port on this 96 Cherokee for the life of me. Is it possible it was during a year where they transitioned?

It says under the hood, conforms to 97 emissions specs

Look under the dash, I'd think it was there.

All vehicles have OBD II in 1996. The connector should be under the sterring column. It might have a cover over it like the Explorer does.

Found it, it came out with the wiring harness when I yanked the motor.
