Default Overhaulin?

Anyone remember this car from Overhaulin?
My ex girlfriend is the owner. And I/m sad to report that she has managed to crash this beautiful Chip creation 2 times since she got it back and I'm honestly not even sure of the current condition other then I know she crashed it last month.
By the way I used to watch the show all the time but when I saw the finished car and the time it really took to get it 100% I was not impressed.

I think the show has a great premise and shows a lot of interesting issues. But I've heard the same thing, that the cars aren't so polished on close look. But hey for the low low price of free, and to get it turned around in a week it's still pretty impressive.

See that was the big thing for me they filmed the show in a weeks time but the car was not really finished and they didn't give it back for 3 months after they said they would.

Ooohhh. Doesn't terribly surprise me though. Jobs like that are really in the hundreds and hundreds of not thousands of man hours. Pulling it off in a week would require near perfect synchronization of a large skilled team, which is the impression they're trying to give.

A shop here in Austin did a car for a famous "Runner" and had fuel injection added to it as part of the 'overhaul". It took the shop 3 months to get the fuel injection running. That's just wrong. All hype. They took so many short-cuts that most quality shops wouldn't accept. If my shop had been asked to do a car for that show, it would be on my terms.
