Default PPG dogbox mod for T-56

I have been planning of pissing away my bonus when I get back. One of the things I'm looking at is the PPG low helical gears for the T-56. They run $4700 a set for parts, but they are significantly stronger than stock and can be reliably upshifted regularly without clutch. I can't find any data on the cost to install the kit. MTI has a package for $8500 that includes parts, but $3800 seems like a HUGE amount of money for transmission rebuild labor. Any data?

For that kind of money why not just go with a Jerico?

I think that's what LGM runs in their road race Vettes.

The gforce i have for the race car is similar, straight cut gears with dog rings and all the trimmings. I think it runs around 5k.gforce has the same setup for around 7k in a t56.

Jericho would be nice, but I didn't see a price. The Gforce was tempting, but they have a bad reputation when power levels go up. PPG is more money, but they advertise daily driver reliability. Jericho is 45# lighter+++++. What is the cost and do they have a c6 kit? ALso how much to install the ppg kit in my t-56?

Call Remac in San Dimas, ask for Leo and tell him Guy sent you. Long time racer and multiple wally winner. He's the best I know of and will be able to hook you up like he did for me and Steven.

As far as the gforce goes lots of dudes are running them on corner carvers without issue. Mine is rated at 600ftlbs and features the same clutchless upshifting.

I know Lou runs them in his Vettes so there must be a kit I figure. I want to say prices depending on options for the road race package in the $6k range. If you want I'll give them a buzz and inquire more while our out of the country.

LG runs the hoellinger sequential unit which is $28k. Way too much. I haven't found a price quote for the PPG kit for labor only. If there is no machining then I can do it.

Maybe I was confused. I thought he ran them in some series . . I'll buzz Jerico just for a reference anyway.

Non of the kits should require machining from what I've read. You just need alot of one off tools.

Talked to Jerico. Basically forget it for C5/6 because of the transaxle setup in the late models. (I forgot the trans is in the back.) It would be a snap in mine (there's a bell housing for the LS, done), but it would require pretty radical fabrication to get it to work in your C6. I must have been just completely hallucinating about LGM using them I guess . . .
